Well, Ramona was opened up yesterday evening, but we decided to wait out another night in the evac center and not deal with the nightmare that traffic would be going back in to Ramona. It wasn't exactly open roads this morning, but it wasn't too bad. About like rush hour.

My parents house was broken in to, and a couple of things were swiped: two lcd monitors and a stereo. They moved the tv, but it was too big to take, I guess. There's a broken screen that needs to be fixed, but other than that, it's in pretty good shape.

My apartment wasn't even touched.

So now we only have to deal with the lack of water (we've got tons of water bottles) until they get everything flowing again. I'll be back at work at the library tomorrow morning, bright and early.

I'm sure Mom will be on sometime to post, too.

Thanks for all the prayers and positive thoughts! I'm sure it helped heaps and hopefully we'll continue to get good news about others in the area.

Tara

That's great, Tara. Sorry to hear about the break-in, but at least they didn't get much and the fire didn't get it at all.

I am so furious that I could murder someone, so if you ever hear that I've been arrested for murder one you'll know why. They took Chuck's new 22 inch lcd monitor that I gave him for a gift. The darned thing was $400.00 plus and only a few months old. They also stole my handicapped brother's stereo, and my son's monitor. That wasn't so bad because it was messing up and on its last legs, but if someone is arrested for robberies in our neighborhood, he may not make it to the police station alive.

The house is full of soot but we're at least home. My 19 inch monitor wasn't touched and neither was my external hard drive but I'm livid about Chuck's. Anyway, I hope to have the next part of Second Choice up in a few days, after we sweep up the ashes all over everything.

We're going out to Denny's for dinner tonight because of the cooking situation. I'll be back later, once my desktop pc is up and running. This is coming from my laptop. Considering the break-in, I'm glad we took the laptop and the pcs with us.

That's terrible about the break in! Some people have no shame. I'm glad to hear that you guys are home and that your house is safe.

I'm very glad to hear that you are home and that your house was not burnt down, Nan! Equally good to hear that your apartment was untouched, Tara.

Glad to hear that the fire didn't make it to your homes. Sorry about the break-in, though.
