Just wanted to share this amusing anecdote - something that happened this afternoon with my friend (and story beta), Miriam. Now, Miriam is a big L&C fan also, but she doesn't have time to post on these boards (trust me, I've tried to convince her, but to no avail..). We were talking about how she's busy re-watching the series and then got on to talking about dinosaurs - I recently bought a book that's an encyclopedia of dinosaurs. I've always been interested in them since I saw Jurassic Park as a kid. Anyway...we were looking through the book and were trying to pronounce many of the dinosaurs' names. There was one called 'Lexovisaurus' and Miriam, being in a silly mood, decided to nick-name it 'Lexluthorosaurus'! I couldn't stop laughing at that... So yes...just wanted to share this highly amusing story. Anyone else ever had things renamed L&C style? ~Anna.

Exactly. Sadly, I think that the dinosaur with the 'Lex' name was only a herbivore. He really should have been a carnivore for it to seem right... 'Tyrannosaurus Lex'...I never actually thought of that one, simple as it seems... I wonder which dinosaur could be a 'super' dinosaur? Presumably one of the pterosaurs, since they can fly... ~Anna.

Well, the Pterodactyl could be renamed 'Superdactyl', but I'm not so sure about that one. but the biggest of the Raptors, the Utah-raptor... Super-raptor?
Oh, and a cute flying beastie, the Archaeopterix: Archaebaterix...

Look no further. According to this page : Originally referred to "Omosaurus", Lexovisaurus is superficially very similar to Kentrosaurus, although a more derived stegosaurid. Also, according to this page about Kentrosaurus: The olfactory bulbs were well developed; this is the part of the brain that gave the animal a very good sense of smell. Not much, really, but some kind of "super" sense. Or, you know, you could just be more obvious about things and go with Supersaurus ... Oh, and let's not forget... Losillasaurus , which is close enough for my dyslexic self.
When in doubt, think about penguins. It probably won't help, but at least it'll be fun.

That's so funny! Paul, what pages you found for us. Yes, I knew there had to be a connection between Lexovisaurus and Kentrosaurous. And Mellie, Tyrannosaurus Lex... that's perfect!
As for the flying dinosaurs, how about Clarcheopterix?

Or Archaeasterix and Archaeobelix. Both fighting the Gaiosaurus Caesar. But that doesn't belong here.
