Hi there, Does anyone know how you pronouce this word? Help would be apprecaited. Snow in Welsh seen typed as --> eira 'pronouciation' is --> ā' ra I'm not able to decipher what the symbols mean despit trying to look it up and say it. It just doesn't work. Thanks for looking and if you are able to help. Happy New Year

Well, I don't know Welsh, but I can decipher SOME phonetic symbols. The line above the A in the pronunciation means that it's a long A, like in "lay." The apostrophe means that it's the end of a syllable (I think). So, it could be pronounced "ay-rah."
But don't quote me on that, 'cause I'm not Welsh.

The apostrophe means it's stressed, or up in cadence. So it'd be AY-rah.
