Hi there,

Does anyone know how you pronouce this word? Help would be apprecaited.

Snow in Welsh
seen typed as --> eira
'pronouciation' is --> ā' ra

I'm not able to decipher what the symbols mean despit trying to look it up and say it. It just doesn't work. blush

Well, I don't know Welsh, but I can decipher SOME phonetic symbols. The line above the A in the pronunciation means that it's a long A, like in "lay." The apostrophe means that it's the end of a syllable (I think). So, it could be pronounced "ay-rah."

But don't quote me on that, 'cause I'm not Welsh.

The apostrophe means it's stressed, or up in cadence. So it'd be AY-rah.
