All you board members that live in the U.S.: don't forget to change your clocks back one hour, since last night the Daylight Saving Time ended. smile

On this subject, I noticed that the boards server didn't "fall back" to regular time yet. So while it is not fixed, remember that all times on the board are shifted one hour ahead (if your computer clock has automatically changed, like mine did).

I'm so happy to get an extra hour of sleep this weekend!

But you can fix the time by going to "my profile" if you want.

Do you know the most surprising thing about divorce? It doesn't actually kill you, like a bullet to the heart or a head-on car wreck. It should. When someone you've promised to cherish till death do you part says, "I never loved you," it should kill you instantly.

Unforunately for us in the Southern Hemisphere that means we get an hour less frown I panicked this morning about being late for work, but my internal clock seems to always get me up at exactly the right time.

Hah, I totally forgot, which is actually rare for me. I'm usually a stickler for the Spring forward/ fall back. So thank God for my computer! I was checking my email earlier today, and suddenly I looked at my computer clock and said...it's not noon?! Wait. My clock says noon... So I checked the cell phone. Ok, it's also not noon on the cell phone. Ohhhhhhhh. clue x 4. :p

This last spring, when the DST began, a professor of mine actually missed a class on TUESDAY afternoon, because he had forgotten to change the clock in his office. dizzy He spent almost three days without realizing that the time had changed. :p Talk about being distracted.

I agree KSaraSara. But dang it all. When I lived in Phoenix, I could never remember what time it was in my home state of Kentucky.

Radio controlled clocks are your friend, if you live within a few hundred miles of one of the atomic clock transmitters, and they're now pretty cheap. I've had a couple of wall clocks for the last 3 or 4 years, and got a watch on eBay earlier this year. Makes it much easier to be sure that the time you're setting is exactly right. Oregon Scientific sell several models, so do a lot of other companies.

My kitchen clock died a few days ago (nothing to do with the time change - I dropped it while changing the battery) and I'm shopping around for another radio clock to replace it. That one's well above head height so it makes a lot of sense to have something that doesn't need to be adjusted.

If you have a PC get GeoClock , it's a clock and world map program that doesn't need a particularly fast PC. You can use it to show the time anywhere in the world, also day and night, sunrise and sunset, position of the moon, etc. There's a shareware version which is fully functional, the registered version adds a lot more features including maps of all of the US states. It's VERY useful for fanfic - when I was writing a Buffy / Angel / Harry Potter crossover story that involved a lot of global travel and teleporting, it was invaluable for working out how far people were travelling, and what time of day it would be when they got there. Since one of the characters was Angel, who has a slight sunlight problem, it was pretty useful.

If I want to know the time in the world, I just go to Time Ticker .
