Well I'm psyched. I'll be moving into my first house on September 15th. So I may go without internet for a while starting around then. I don't know for how long. I doubt anyone will notice my absence, but I wanted to send out a heads up. I'll be gone for a good reason, I wouldn't want anyone to think something happened to me.

I can visit the boards at work, but I won't post. I also won't be able to access the nfic section. I do hope some of the stories I'm following in the nfic folder wrap up by then....then again, I'd be sad they'd be done so I might not wish that!

Cheers!
ROO

Roo! Congratulations! My hubbie and I have been in our house for 3 years now. It's such a nice feeling to have a house to call your own.

Of course we'll miss you - and your sweet little comments!

But congrats! dance

Roo!

Congrats - I know you mentioned the other day you were nervous because you had put an offer on a house. Hopefully everything goes well with the move.

Don't sell yourself short - we'll all miss you while you're gone!

Sue

Oh, that's exciting, best of luck! I always notice when people disappear for a while, and it's cool to know what everyone's up to. cool

Congrats on your new home smile1

My husband and I bought our home(a duplex) almost 7 years ago.

We had rented it for about 5 years before that.
We would spend cozy winter evenings snuggled up on the couch, dreaming about how we would fix it up if we bought it.

When we finally did we began renovations...and our little home became THE MONEY PIT thumbsup

Don't be away too long. laugh

Perry: "Clark, do you want me to send you to the dark room?"

Congratulations! That is such an exciting time. My husband and I bought our first house about six months after we'd gotten married. We hadn't really planned on it; we saw a good deal on a house we liked, and one thing led to another, and suddenly, there were were, with more rooms than furniture and no money left to buy so much as a footstool.

I still remember feeling like there'd been some big cosmic mistake - that we weren't *nearly* grown up enough to actually own something like that. I felt the same way a few years later when we brought the first baby home from the hospital. The nurses just handed him over - this brand spanking new little person. I thought, These people don't even KNOW me, and they're letting me take this baby. Are they crazy? He's nearly nine now, though, so I guess it's working out.

Enjoy the new house! Hang pictures. Plant flowers. Arrange furniture. Paint some walls a weird color that you've always wanted. It's all yours, and that's a great feeling smile .

Best,

Caroline

Wow! Thanks for your kind words.

Not only did we fix up our side, we fixed up the other side and rented it out. It really helps out with the mortgage.
That's excellent!

Our goal was too see how long we can do w/o internet and TV. My husband is already being fussy that the NHL will start up in October and will need to watch his Habs. goofy so cross fingers it's all good.

It was 'born' in 1921 or 1912 (can't remember at the moment). It's a bit boring on the outside, but that's all fixable.
I'll put up a picture of it for a day or two:

EDIT - I took it down b/c the page won't be around.

Hello all,

I hope all is fabulous.

Haha, I'm back - finally I have internet and TV.

I can hardly wait to see what has been going on.

I know it hasn't been long, yet it seems like forever.

Cheers,
ROO
