Are there any? Is it just me?

I can't help it. Last night's game was just amazing and if I can't gush a bit, I'll pop.

Curt Schilling, pitching on a dislocated ankle tendon that had been sewn in place, bleeding as he pitches the game of his career.

And the BoSox doing what no team in the history of baseball has ever done. Ever. Coming back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the series at 3-3! And against the New York Yankees, no less.

Final game 7 tonight. I tell you, (and I am fully aware I am probably just talking to myself here) I've been losing sleep with the marathon games this week. Can't wait.

Let's not mention the curse, ok? Let's not mention that to be fan of the Red Sox means you're the ultimate Angst/Wham lover, and the repeated victim of the Tank Ending. Let's pretend we don't know that, just for today.

I have always made it a habit to root for any team playing against the Yankees. (I'm a Mets fan, myself.) So, even though I'm not a Red Sox fan, per se, I will be cheering Boston on tonight, right along with you, CC!

I am a Cleveland Indians fan. That said, I have watched the ALCS -- initially rooting for the Yankees to win because I have a friend who is a die-hard Red Sox fan -- to the point of annoyance -- who kind of screwed me over. But after coming back from 0-3 to tie the series at 3-3, how can I not root for them?

As someone who hates any team that I consider the Lakers of their sport, I fully support Boston tonight.

Although, if the Sox win the World Series ... my love for Boston sports may decrease due to sports 'luck'. It's hard to love a city with the Red Sox and a greatest comeback of all time plus the Pats with an NFL record win streak and all (although the Celtics may cancel that out).

That said, I'm cheering for the Red Sox tonight.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, CC.

Personally, I am rooting for the Red Sox because I don't want the Yankees to be in the World series again!

Then of course, I would switch to the Cardinals (I am from St. Louis, after all...)assuming that we can beat the Astros, which we will, we have to, its...destiny /me sighs

Now THAT was a beautiful game. clap

Johnny Damon is my new hero, although still second to Jason Varitek ('cause I have to love him) and, of course, Curt Schilling ('cause he's absolutely AMAZING; and so is his wife, battling back from cancer like that).

I'm afraid to say it out loud!

Just can't believe it. Even deep into the game with the runs piling up (Johnny Damon, I'm sorry for everything I said about you this post season. Marry me?), I still kept waiting for the sky to fall. Years of hard experience assuring me it would have to at some point.

Now down is up and up is down. And the Evil Empire...goes home and sits out the World Series!!

That's it. That's all I'm saying. Wouldn't want to speculate that the Thing is Broken now. That's just tempting the baseball fates. Cruel, cruel fates...

And, hey, who let Wanda onto my pretty Boston thread?! There's one in every crowd...tsk.<G>.

I'm not a fan of... whatever sport this refers to goofy - but I've just been reading this and feeling sorry for FoLCdom's biggest Yankees fan, the owner and administrator in chief of these message boards, Annette! You're all being so cruel to her! laugh

yay! boston fans!

I wish that I had seen this thread earlier but i've been slightly distracted this week! it's been absolutely crazy around here - i teach in a high school and the kids (and the teachers) have been zombies all week. and i have a feeling it'll be the same this week!

cc I'm right there with you - I hardly slept on wednesday night thinking that I must have misunderstood something. that there was no way that we could have won that game ~ despite all of the runs. my roommates and i just stared at the tv for a while...i'll let you have johnny damon - i love him but i still want to marry david ortiz smile

I too had wondered at one point wednesday night if the end of the world was coming - but i think i was a little ahead of myself. that might happen after this series smile

well - tonight's the night!

still grinnin' like a fool laugh

Go Red Sox!

I'm not here to say anything whatsoever about any 7 game winning streak.

Talk like that might slide us all back over into the Real World, rather than this alternate reality that seems to be playing out on my television.

Since I'm not saying anything, though, I have to ask: has anyone checked? Has hell frozen?! Have the oceans turned to blood? Are the End Times upon us??

Just wondering.

Just...not believing my eyes.

Just thinking that Curt Schilling is the greatest thing Ever. And that I will come and throw rice at your wedding to David Ortiz, shells. Nice pick. But other than that, I'm not saying anything.

And now the larger question looms....

Is it the potential end of the curse, or a sign of the impending apocolypse?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Hell froze over.

Really, I'm a Yankees fan, but I couldn't help but root for the Sox after they snockered us 4 games in a row. They were long overdue, to say the least.
