Happy Easter, everyone, and to those who celebrate the religious part of it, Jesus Christ is risen today, alleluia! God bless!

I knew, therefore I'm catholic myself, I guess it slipped my mind, til i was told. So yeah I should know..coz every easter there's a special service at our church. Everybody forms a line as if to serve communion, and they kiss the cross, then the priest draws a cross on your forehead.
Is that how your church does it Anne? cool

You're Catholic and they do that? I am Catholic, and we get a cross on our heads on Ash Wednesday, but not on Easter Sunday.

PS I LOVE the Easter Bunny Rap!!!! That is just so cute! smile1

The kissing of the cross sounds Good Friday-ish (or Holy Thursday I don't rememeber), but iirc from last year, we didn't have a priest make a cross on our heads. I think we just went back to our seats.

Yes, both of you (Laura & Shadow) are right. thumbsup *wink* In our church, the kissing of the cross is what we do, than, the priest or Deacon draws an ash of a cross on our foreheads.

I had a good easter. I'm not religious so this is what I did smile I had to work late the night before (or early sunday, depending on how you look at it - 330am). My husband woke me up and he hid about 50 mini chocolate eggs for me. I only got to play that once when I was a kid (....I was in grade 9!) so my husband feels he has to get me to catch up on some kid stuff.

Happy belated Easter!!!!

I've converted to lurk-ism... hopefully only temporary.

I was brough up Lutheran (yep, typical Minnesotan), but went to a Catholic church on Easter, St. Olaf in downtown Mpls. My stepmom is Catholic, so she & my dad go to each other's church on different Sundays. It was a beautiful service. They used an awful lot of incense, though. It was a good thing I thought to take allergy stuff beforehand.
