what is was like to be 13?

The St. Petersburg Times just finished an absolutely fascinating series that is a look into the lives of 13 year olds. They shadowed a handful of students (some of them friends) at a magnet middle school in Tampa. They went to their classes, homes, concerts, slumber parties. They interviewed their friends, parents, teachers. They read their homework, books, notes. They listened to their cds and radio stations.

I'm only on day two, and I'm completely hooked. The stories are alternatingly hysterical, embarrassing, sad and poignant. It's also one of the best written newsstories I've ever read. You can check it out here.

Enjoy,
Annie
