I am working on coming up with songs for the CDs for the swag bags at LAFF (I *so* love the word swag) and I thought I'd broaden my horizons and ask you guys for some input. What is ONE song that reminds you of Lois and Clark, and why? ************************** My pick: "Alone" by Heart. (And no, not just because it's my favorite song.) Ironically, when I got Celine Dion's new CD back in November and heard her version, I immediately thought of Lois and Clark. And lo and behold, I am not the only one who thought that, because I found an outstanding music video on the L&C archive! I think it is perfectly fitting of the evolution of Lois and Clark's relationship from when they met to the point in Season 2 where she had fallen for him -- and was really starting to get fed up with him for running out on her all the time (around "Whine, Whine, Whine"). The lyrics, "Till now, I always got by on my own, I never really cared until I met you ... and now it chills me to the bone ... how can I get you alone?" are just perfect to sum up Lois' feelings. And it just may show up in something I'm writing, very soon.
Clark: "You don't even know the meaning of the word 'humility,' do you?"
Lois: "Never had a need to find out its meaning."

The only song I have in my head at the moment is "The Power of Love - Celine Dion"and I guess I don't need to describe why I think it fits for Lois and Clark. oh and of course the song "Holding Out For A Hero - Bonnie Tyler" because it always reminds me of the Pilot where Clark tried to find a suit. Every time I hear this song I have to think of Superman "No one will look into your eyes..." Let me think about that maybe I'll find some other songs too...

I'm thinking about Soulmate by Natasha Bedingfield "Incompatible, it don't matter though, cause someone's bound to hear my cry" "Is it possible Mr Loveable is already in my life Right in front of me or maybe you're in disguise" "Somebody tell me why I'm on my own If there's a soulmate for eveyone" I thought about Lois the first time I listened to the song. I've always thought this song could be used in a musicvideo

I'd have to say My Destiny by Katharine McPhee 'cause of the lyrics. With you, finally I can break free With you, I saw a changing in my destiny Dream come true, it's so funny now that I see How different life turned to be
Can I get any higher Tell me, does it get any stronger? I owe it to you, that I made it through I never could've done it, without youAawwww. The first song I thought about was actually Cold Hearted Snake by Paula Abdul.. but that's more Lois/Lex then Lois/Clark Although, if there's room left on the CD, that would be nice to have on there too I love Paula!
Clark: Lois, you're talking about war. This is journalism. Lois: See, your problem is you think there's a difference.

(oh, god, no...please not Céline Dion...)
I'm going to say Count On Me by Default - it's a gorgeous song and, to me, it's totally their relationship at the beginning, with Lois always running back to Clark for comfort and he's always there for her.
Anytime you need someone Somebody strong to lean on Well you can count on me To hold you till the healing is done And every time you fall apart Well you can hide here in my arms And you can count on me To hold you till that feeling is gone
Superman: Why is it that good villains never die? Batman: Clark, what the hell are good villains? => Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

Save me, by Dexter Freebish.
I like the lyrics because I think they apply to either Lois or Clark really. I think they both have agendas to save the world heh, but in case any of you have ever tried it (not saying that I have either LOL), it's not quite enough. You're not an island.
lyrics Some days I need to change my world One desire fills this empty void Tonight I wanna be saved by you I wanna be lost in you
I've fallen from the tops of mountains to the ground I've shaken off the sands of time, marched to the sound When the clock runs out, and there's no doubt, I feel so far from home When the lies get worse, I'll just get hurt, I'll find myself alone Tonight I wanna be saved by you I wanna be lost in you
Sometimes when I get tired I wanna be alone The days pass uninspired I sleep like a stone It's better when I'm awake

"Hands to Heaven," by Breathe is a good Lois & Clark song. It makes me think of the night before Clark leaves for New Krypton.
Hands to Heaven - Breathe
As I watch you move, across the moonlit room There's so much tenderness in your loving Tomorrow I must leave, the dawn knows no reprieve God give me strength when I am leaving
CHORUS: So raise your hands to heaven and pray That we'll be back together someday Tonight, I need your sweet caress Hold me in the darkness Tonight, you calm my restlessness You relieve my sadness
As we move to embrace, tears run down your face I whisper words of love, so softly I can't believe this pain, it's driving me insane Without your touch, life will be lonely
CHORUS
Morning has come, another day I must pack my bags and say goodbye, goodbye
CHORUS

It won't be what you're looking for and it's a bizarre notion anyway, but for some odd reason The Waterboys' The Whole of the Moon always makes me think of LNC when I hear it. Perhaps because of its theme of a pessimist falling in love with an optimist. Who can tell? Great song anyway. Whole ofthe Moon Other than that - Small Talk by the Roxettes. I used it in a MV because it was cute and made me think of LNC. Small Talk LabRat
Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly. Aramis: Yes, sorry. Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.

I could give you a huge list of songs that I think would suit Lois and Clark!
You and Me by Lifehouse even though it was used on Smallville for Lana and Clark I reckon it is a Lois and Clark song.
My Everything by 98 Degrees really reflects on how Clark feels about Lois.
Well at the moment that's all I can come up with will post more later!
Edit: This is the other songs that I reckon suit Lois and Clark-
I Promise You (With Everything I Am) by the Backstreet Boys especially the chorus:
I promise you from the bottom my heart I will love you till death do us part I promise you as a lover and a friend I will love you like I never loved again with everything I am
This song was never released, but is on the album Black and Blue which has heaps of songs that could be used for Lois and Clark.
My Kinda Girl by Brian McKnight and Justin Timberlake is also a good one
We Belong Together by Mariah Carey
God Must Have Spent (A Little More Time On You) by NSYNC
Anywhere For You, More Than That, All I Have to Give, Just to Be Close to You, My Heart Stays With You, I'll Be There For You all by BSB.
One final one for thought Until the Time is Through by 5ive
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched they must be felt with the heart

'About You Now' by Sugababes always makes me think of HoL:-
Can we bring yesterday back around 'Cause I know how I feel about you now I was dumb, I was wrong, I let you down But I know how I feel about you now
Not a day passed me by Not a day passed me by That I don't think about you. And there's no moving on 'Cause I know you're the one And I can't be without you

I can remember some:
"L.O.V.E." by Ashlee Simpson (because of Clark's "mysterious" disappearances)
"Love doesn't have to hurt (to feel good)" by Atomic Kitten (first/ second season Lois' POV)
"Understand" by Christina Aguillera (once again first/ second season Lois' POV)
"Ever fallen in love" by Pete Yorn (First and second season - Clark's POV when Lois mistreated him)
"Will I ever make it home" by Ingram Hill (for the New Krypton arc)
Hope that helps a little!!

Oh! And also "You found me" by Kelly Clarkson (for me that definitively sums up the whole relationship)
Is this a dream? If it is Please don't wake me from this high I'd become comfortably numb Until you opened up my eyes To what it's like When everything's right I can't believe
You found me When no one else was lookin' How did you know just where I would be? Yeah, you broke through All of my confusion The ups and the downs And you still didn't leave I guess that you saw what nobody could see You found me You found me
So, here we are That's pretty far When you think of where we've been No going back I'm fading out All that has faded me within You're by my side Now everything's fine I can't believe
You found me When no one else was lookin' How did you know just where I would be? Yeah, you broke through All of my confusion The ups and the downs And you still didn't leave I guess that you saw what nobody could see You found me You found me
And I was hiding 'Til you came along And showed me where I belong You found me When no one else was lookin' How did you know? How did you know?
You found me When no one else was lookin' How did you know just where I would be? Yeah, you broke through All of my confusion The ups and the downs And you still didn't leave I guess that you saw what nobody could see You found me
(You found me) (When no one else was lookin') You found me (How did you know just where I would be?) You broke through All of my confusion The ups and the downs And you still didn't leave I guess that you saw what nobody could see The good and the bad And the things in between You found me You found me

I think Fighter by Christina Aguilera works for Lois. I think of her when I hear that song... parts of it could be about Claude or Paul or her dad or Lex.
After all you put me through Youd think Id despise you But in the end I want to thank you Because you made me that much stronger
When i, thought I knew you Thinking, that you were true I guess i, I couldnt trust Called your bluff, time is up cause Ive had enough You were, there by my side Always, down for the ride But your, joy ride just came down in flames cause your greed sold me out of shame, mmhmm
After all of the stealing and cheating You probably think that I hold resentment for you But, uh uh, oh no, youre wrong cause if it wasnt for all that you tried to do I wanna know just how capable I am to pull through So I wanna say thank you
cause it makes me that much stronger Makes me work a little bit harder It makes me that much wiser So thanks for making me a fighter Made me learn a little bit faster Made my skin a little bit thicker Makes me that much smarter So thanks for making me a fighter
Ohh, ohh, ohh, ohhhh, ohh-yeah ah uhhhuh
Never, saw it coming All of, your backstabbing Just so, you could cash in On a good thing before I realized your game I heard, youre going around Playing the victim now But dont, even begin Feeling Im the one to blame cause you dug your own grave
After all of the fights and the lies Yes you wanted to harm me but that wont work anymore Uh, no more, oh no, its over cause if it wasnt for all of your torture I wouldnt know how to be this way now, and never back down So I wanna say thank you
cause it makes me that much stronger Makes me work a little bit harder Makes me that much wiser So thanks for making me a fighter Made me learn a little bit faster Made my skin a little bit thicker It makes me that much smarter So thanks for making me a fighter
How could this man I thought I knew Turn out to be unjust so cruel Could only see the good in you Pretended not to see the truth You tried to hide your lies, disguise yourself Through living in dnial But in the end youll see You-wont-stop-me
I am a fighter and i I aint goin stop There is no turning back Ive had enough

some more...
"The Pieces Don't Fit Anymore" by James Morrison (when Clark decided to leave Metropolis when he thought Lois was going to stay with Dan)
"Chemicals React" by Aly & AJ (while Lois and Clark were dating)
"Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis (Lois perspective)
"Caught in a moment" by the Sugababes (just because)
"Meant to fly" by Eva Avila (it just reminds me of Superman)
I'll keep posting if I remember more

Hi Jenn, While I don't have time to search my music library (I'm officially translating a medical dissertation on ulcers *yuck), here's a few songs from the top of my head: - Sun Comes Up by John Legend fabulous, laid-back song, perfect for Clark persuading Lois to give love a second chance: So listen here now i know you've been hurt by the one before i know your pain And i know you never thought you could love again but i know the way yeah yeah And i know about your circumstance but love is here at a 2nd chance so take my hand and follow me you'll never wanna leave - Love Will Come Through by Travis one of the greatest songs ever. If this song were a man, I don't even want to know what I would do ... and don't these lyrics just scream "Clark"? If I told you a secret You won't tell a soul Will you hold it and Keep it alive
Cause it's burning a hole And I can't get to sleep And I can't live alone In this life
So look up, take it away Don't look da-da-da-down The mountain
If the world isn't turning Your heart won't return Anyone, anything, anyhow
So take me, don't leave me Take me, don't leave me Baby, love will come through It's just waiting for you - Nobody Wants To Be Lonely by Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilera one of my guilty pleasures, but I really think it fits well for pre-HoL Lois and Clark There you are, in a darkened room And you're all alone, looking out the window Your heart is cold and lost the will to love Like a broken arrow Here I stand in the shadows In the shadows Come to come, come to me Can't you see that
Nobody wants to be lonely Nobody wants to cry My body's longing to hold you So bad it hurts inside Time is precious and it's slipping away And I've been waiting for you all of my life (ohh) Nobody wants to be lonely So why (why), why don't you let me love you
