It's time to nominate what stories you'd like to read for our fanfic club in April. If you have a fanfic in mind that you'd like to nominate, please post the title of the story, the name of the author, and a link to it on the Archive.

I'm going to re-nominate some stories from previous months, which sounded good to me and that I haven't yet read.

Lois wakes up one morning having memory problems. Is she merely trying to block out a painful experience or is something else behind her mysterious amnesia? (Inspired by the concept of "50 First Dates") A multiauthored story by Matrix and Sue S.
I've already downloaded this one to my Nook. /Can't resist a completed Sue S. story.../

Epiphany by Doc. Klein's Labrat: Having discovered new depths to her partner at the Corn Festival, Lois begins to wonder just what she might be missing in this reworking of the episode "Green, Green Glow of Home." How might events have progressed if she'd been a little more in touch with her feelings...and desires? (128K)

Sue S.'s Ricochet for the same reason: Lois switches places with her future self. (216K)
Another Sue S. story I've missed. /Makes note to add it to my Nook as well./

"PLANET REPORTER KILLED IN TERRORIST ATTACK" Lois wakes up to find her husband dead, and there to comfort her is... Superman? Is this a nightmare, or is something sinister going on? A multiauthored story by Wendy Richards and Tank Wilson.
Thank you all to the list of Wendy Richards stories for me to peruse. clap
/LLF, would this count as a short story?/

24 Hours - It's a thriller with suspense, action, drama and everything else. "Lois Lane has been poisoned and she and Clark are running out of time to find the antidote. Will Lois live long enough to write her own obituary?" (417Kb)

A Conscious Choice - Clark decides to accept Lois's love - as Superman. But everything has consequences. Drama, angst, love and WAFFyness. (167Kb)

Faux Pas - "Clark offers his new colleague Lois Lane a bed for the night after she's mugged. It was supposed to be all above board, but one thing leads to another...." (832Kb)

Poison - "The day after unknowingly drinking a Kryptonite-laced glass of wine, a feverish Clark staggers into the Daily Planet. A disgruntled Lois takes him back to his apartment and ends up taking care of him... " (203Kb)

Whisper from the Dying - multiauthored by Wendy Richards and Kaethel - "What would have happened if Clark had declared his love to Lois before dying in TOGOM (the episode "That Old Gang of Mine")?" (236Kb
Thanks, Andreia.

Well, I think that's enough to get us started. peep

Short story
Security by Sue S.
An encounter with the clone Superman allow both Lois and Clark the chance to see beyond the exterior.

Long story
The Man Under The Suit by Happy Girl
Clark Kent is a master of disguise, with more aliases than you can shake a stick at, so you can imagine his surprise when one insightful reporter sees right through his most flashy disguise of all.

So many great choices already of stories I've either read and loved or want to read. Most of them are long though, so here are a couple short stories that sounded like fun reads.

A Lois and Clark Fairy Tale: Loispunzel and the Prince 25Kb by Doc. Klein's LabRat
A little piece of fairy tale fluff in response to Meredith Knight's 'Write a Lois and Clark fairy tale' challenge on Zoom's messageboards. What's a kingly father to do when his feisty princess daughter has no husband and an evil advisor has designs of his own?

The Revenge of Ultrawoman 50Kb by Ultrawoman Lane
An adorable story in which Lois gets the chance to turn the tables on Clark with some interesting complications.

Found a few more that have been recommended to me:

Coming of Age by Stopquitdont: Lois and Clark meet when they're teenagers. Will they make irreparable mistakes? Or will they eventually come of age?

Carol M's On the Other Hand : Metropolis University freshmen Lois Lane and Clark Kent are destined to meet, but are they destined to fall in love? Set in the early twenty-first century, will they end up together or will Utopia have to find another way?

Does anyone know if this is a sequel? The title makes it sound that way.

Above Alt-Else by SunRei: An alternate universe retelling of the fateful meeting between Clark Kent and Lois Lane. The tale begins the day they meet at the Daily Planet and how fate, flight, and fancy shape how they grow from there. If you think you know the secret, think again...

Okay, that's enough for now.

No, it isn't a sequel. It starts when Lois and Clark are still university students and follows from there. It's a long story full of angst and heartbreak, most of time you want to hit Clark with a glowing green 2x4, but at the very last he redeems himself and there's a happy ending. laugh There's a sequel: Unanswered Prayers and there's the beginning of another sequel that sadly never got finished: Someone Else\'s Dreams

For a Short story I want to suggest Seeing Red by Missy Gallant.

Lois finally gives up her crush on Superman and decides to wish it farewell with wearing one item of clothing she thought no one but Superman would see.

CLARK: No. I'm just worried I'm a jinx.
JONATHAN: A jinx?
CLARK: Yeah. Let's face it, ever since she's known me, Lois's been kidnapped, frozen, pushed off buildings, almost stabbed, poisoned, buried alive and who knows what else, and it's all because of me.

A writer's job is to think of new plots and create characters who stay with you long after the final page has been read. If that mission is accomplished than we have done what we set out to do, which is to entertain and hopefully educate.
