Edit: I had forgotten about the extra points for naming the character being referred to. In my story, Ellen Lane had noticed something amiss about her grandson Todd Kent.

From the excerpts: Based on the name "Hattie," I am guessing that #3 is Ken's "Hattie Kaplan - Reporter"

I've a feeling I have read #1; it sounds familiar, but I'm not placing it.
