Answers to the third quiz go here! Remember to put in spoiler space and bonus shimmery pink star stickers (stolen from Virginia's stash wink )to those authors who recognize their own stories! And please do leave recommendations! I know for a fact there are many other wonderful stories that I have missed, considering the fact that I have scoured through so many of them, and all deserve recognition!

Most of all, have fun!

Wow, thanks for the recommendation, Virginia! Snowbound was a hoot to write!

I second "High Tide" as a recommendation too.

I'm a little confused by some of the recs, too.

Having skimmed through this one, I'm not sure if everyone understands that the recommendations should be linked to the Kerths and to specific categories. Recommended stories should be taken from the eligibles list and linked to the category that the quiz represents.

So, for example, this being the quiz for the WAFFY cat, the recs should be taken from among the list of stories eligible for nominations in this category. And so on for the other quizzes, of course.

Hope that solves some of the confusion. :-)

Because out of my 14 stories on the list, only 5 of them are over 50K (although, a sixth one is only a few K short of 50). I believe 4 of them are actually under 10K (from the Lynn S.M. School of Writing the Super Short). I can guarantee you that with the way things are going this year, I may only have the one eligible story for next year's awards. peep

Thanks, Mouserocks, for including my "The Worst April Fools Prank" as #8 here; I'm always thrilled to have one of my works cited. I was kind of surprised by the story's inclusion on this quiz, though, since it hadn't struck me as being particularly WAFFy, despite the mention of an alleged elopement.

Points totals from this quiz:

Virginia: 2+2+2+2+2+2+1+1= 14 points and a shimmery pink star that I have shamelessly stolen from you and given back :p
Deadly Chakram: 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+1= 15 points and a shimmery pink star!
UltraWoman: 2+2+2+2+2+2+2= 14 points
Darth Michael: 2+2+2+2+1+1= 10 points
Bobbart: 2+2+2= 6 points and shimmery pink star!
Lynn: 2 points for catching your own fic! And a shimmery pink star, of course.
Classicalla: 2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+1= Woah!! 19 points!! AND a shimmery pink star! dance

Points after the first two quizzes:

Deadly Chakram: 8.5 points + 15 points = 23.5 points
Darth Michael: 6 points + 11.5 points = 17.5 points
Female Hawk: 8.5 points + 7 points = 15.5 points
VirginiaR: still 14 points (since I can’t earn points for quizzes I give)
UltraWoman: 13 points
Lonnie: 8.5 points
Mouserocks: 8 points
Bobbart: 2.5 points + 4 points = 6.5 points
IolantheAlias: 4.5 points
Morgana: 2.75 points
scifiJoan - 2 points
Lynn: 1 point

Points Including this quiz:

Deadly Chakram: 38.5 points!

UltraWoman: 27 points
Classicalla: 19 points (all from one quiz! Impressive. Most Impressive. laugh )
FemaleHawk: 15.5 points
Bobbart: 12.5 points
Lonnie: 8.5 points
Mouserocks: 8 points
Iolanthe: 4.5 points
Lynn: 3 points
Morgana: 2.75 points
ScifiJoan: 2 points

Recommendations:

Here's some suggested fics. As Labby briefly mentioned, not all of them fit the category of "WAFFy" or the length req (1-50k), so I'll post the ones that I believe do. Not to say the others aren't excellent reads as well. I'd recommend everything if I could! (And I apologize, but I don't have time to find the links for all of these, so get your search ready!)

"High Tide" by Sue S.
"Worth the Risk" by Sue S.
"Burn" by Happygirl
"The Whole Truth" by Sue S.
"The Little Things" by VirginiaR
"Another Day"/"Another Day, Different View" by VirginiaR
"Scientific Impossibility" by Mouserocks

The other recs were either too long or too ambiguous on the theme front, but go and look them up anyways!

It was more the recs for Shayne's The Tide that confused me, Virginia, rather than your stories. It's not on the eligibles list and from the comments it seems it may not even be a complete story, so it would definitely not be eligible in that case! laugh

The one thing we wouldn't want is lots of noms having to be discarded because stories that aren't eligible have been recommended in a quiz thread, leading to confusion when nominating as to what's eligible and what isn't. That would be a disaster.

So probably best to double check the official eligibles list before sending in noms. :-)

When it was written, it was as a complete vignette, but we're all begging for him to write more. laugh Maybe that's why it was never submitted to the Archives. wink

I admit, I added a few stories to my Recommendation list, which weren't on the eligibiles list hoping the author would notice it here and ask the Kerth Committee to add their story to the eligibles list. [Linked Image] I'll try and refrain from doing that in the future. laugh

OK, so I haven't read any of the previous posts. No need for a spoiler space, this is going to be brutal.

The excerpts:
1. ?
2. "And Nothing But The Truth" - Sue S.
3. A fic by KenJ?
4. I should know this but I don't.
5. ?
6. ?
7. ?
8. ?
9. This sounds like VirginiaR.
10. ?

Longer excerpts:
Shoot, I still don't know any of them except for #2.

EDIT: As you can see, I obviously didn't read the posts and I obviously didn't know the fic was closed. Gotta work on that, that's the second time I've been tardy with my answers. frown

Yes, UltraWoman, Cold Lake was based on John Quincy Adams daily nude swims and the first US female to get an interview with a president. Thanks for remembering that. wink
