Do we know where Ellen lives in S1? HoL is her first appearance. Is it possible she doesn't live in Metropolis?

I don't recall the show ever mentioning where she lived, but my memory on that is hazy. I figure that one of two things is possible:

1) Ellen doesn't live in Metropolis OR
2) Lois is just really, really good at avoiding mom

I feel like she lived elsewhere because I vaguely remember someone saying something about her flying in. Also, she needed a hotel too for the wedding and couldn't get one. In the series finale both elder sets of parents are staying with Lois and Clark at the townhouse, so I assume they don't have homes in the area. On the other hand, during the wedding planning when she was all up in their kool-aid with Beverly the wedding planner, it seems like she must live in the area... Unless she just jammed out for a while in a hotel. She did divorce a doctor, so she's probably okay financially to do that. Lol
