I just noticed, Female Hawk is only the second author to win both the "Best New Author" and the "Best Overall Story" in the same year. Another heartfelt congrats! (And, should anybody need to be reminded, the first one to pull it off was Queen Sue herself back in 2007.) So, another round of applause for Female Hawk! clap clap clap

A huge "THANK YOU!" to everyone who helped pull off this year's awards - KComm, the presenters, and the tech-wizards working behind the scenes. I had an absolute blast hanging out with everyone last night. We really should all get together more often. smile

Congratulations to all the nominees and the winners! Many, many thanks to those who nom'd and/or voted for my stories. I was honored to be included among such talent. notworthy

Lois: You know, I have a funny feeling that you didn't tell me your biggest secret.

Clark: Well, just to put your little mind at ease, Lois, you're right.

Congratulations to all those who stories were singled out for this addtional appreciation.

Still, I feel the real winners are all us gentle readers who have been treated to such a high degree of storytelling for so many years now.

I'm not someone who samples a lot of other fandoms but it has been my impression that no other group is as lucky as we are to have the overall level of quality and skill in the writing of fanfiction as we do.

Congratulations to us all, and a heartfelt thanks to all the gentle writers who supply us with so many great fics to read whether they be honored with Kerth recognition or not.

I had places to go and people to see right after the Kerths, so this is the first time I've had a chance to get back here.

Thanks to everyone who liked my story enough to vote for the original characters in it. I appreciate it. Creating believable characters is a lot harder than it looks, and it's nice that the readers seem to know that.

Kudos to the great people who were able to put together such an enjoyable event. The Kerths are something I suspect a lot of people look forward to every year. I know I do, and I had a wonderful time.

I've had nearly 24 hours to recover from the shock!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to the Kerths (Amber - your commercials were fantastic). Not only had I never been to a Kerth ceremony before, I had never experienced *anything* like this. It was more fun than I would have thought possible.

And I *have* to attend next year, because I get to present BNA! smile1

I can't really find the words to express how grateful I am that so many of you read my stories - let alone that you nom'd and then voted for AMH. dance

Congratulations to *all* nominees. As others have said, the quality and creativity of the fic on these boards is astounding.

Corrina.

I feel a little sheepish coming in after Corrina’s wonderful note above, but I really did want to add my congratulations to the nominees and winners. Honestly, everyone that participates in the unbelievably special fandom is a winner.

I also want to add my thanks to organizers of the Kerth awards and ceremony. This is one of the elements make this a very special place.

I’ve been on the internet since the early 90’s but never once felt moved to do anything more than lurk. It took a very special place and group of people to convince me to de-cloak and participate. This is truly a very, very special place. The people, the stories and the sense of community as epitomized by the Kerths are all reflections of how special this place is.

I am honored to have been a nominee and can hardly believe I won something. I feel fortunate to be a part of something so special.

Hi,

Congrats to the winners and the nominees. I'm amazed that so many new writers join our fandom since the show ended way over ten years ago, but I'm very happy that they do.

Once again, thanks to the K-comm for organizing the awards every year. You do a great job. smile

Yours Jenni

I've just finished the transcript, if anyone wants to see the fun that they missed, or just wants to relive the night. I'll email it for the Kerth site when I get back home tonight, but I went ahead and threw it up on my site for now. laugh

Hello! I'm not a frequenter of the boards, but I do read fanfic here pretty regularly. Just saw that Female Hawk won several Kerths for "Awaken My Heart." However, I can't find this story in the archive under her name in the Author pages or under the title in the Title pages. Can someone post a link? Feel a little silly that I can't find it wink

Don't feel silly - that's my fault, not yours. I'm just slack at getting my stories to the archive.

Here's the link to the TOC

Awaken My Heart

Apologies again. It *will* get to the archive.

Thanks for your interest.

Corrina.

Oh, and welcome to the boards!

Thanks for the transcript, Karen! smile It was fun to read.

"You told me you weren't like other men," she said, shaking her head at him when the storm of laughter had passed.
He grinned at her - a goofy, Clark Kent kind of a grin. "I have a gift for understatement."
"You can say that again," she told him.
"I have a...."
"Oh, shut up."

Most of these stories are on the Fanfic Archive. Some have not been sent there yet but will get there eventually. In the meantime, try this site: http://www.kerthawards.com/2010storylist.html It should give you links to most of the nominated stories. If you can't connect to the stories via the links here, you need more help than I can give you and someone who understands the complexities of computers better will have to help you.

On the subject of finding the Kerth winners, how long does it take for the archive to be updated with the 2010 Kerth page?

I was just over there and was surprised that the new Kerth page hasn't been added yet.

Basically, it takes as long as it takes, Bob. Lauren gets it to as quickly as her RL and paying job schedules allow. wink

The Kerth 2010 page is up on the archive, and the 2010 icons are sprinkled throughout the catalog pages. I'm very sorry for the delay.
