Okay - let's see how bad I fail this one... B E S T S U P E R S H O R T Quote 1: It's strange what you think of when you're dying. My first thought was Lois Lane Last Will and Testament but I can't imagine that being less than 10K... Quote 2: "We got engaged last night. I'd better know her, and we met at a White House security check point."OOooo interesting! but I don't remember :p Quote 3: Clark let out a bitter, humorless laugh that turned into more of a choked sob. "A suicidal Superman. Who wouldda thunk it?"ARGHH! I know I read this one! I think. Quote 4: No one, not in a million years, ever thought he would leave. No one thought he would die.Um... Is this Nancy/Anon's in betweenie from the ARGH? Quote 5: "Perfect! I will send an email to Superman at once, requesting his bank details..."LOL! Is this... One of the Murphy's Law ones? Quote 6: He had loved this island; its diversity in both human culture and wildlife.Erm... Quote 7: "Lois, I really don't think you're fat," he spoke quietly.Oops. Someone's in trouble Quote 8: "So Kent's story wasn't just a fairy tale? There really was a Superman?"Hrm... that's interesting... Not sure what it is though... Quote 9: "Tell me the truth, Clark. Did you do this just for sex?"EEP! Quote 10: If it was a Tuesday or a Thursday.... Did any of that matter to you? If I asked you to tell me what I was wearing, would you answer me?Um... Quote 11: Their joy, however, was overshadowed by the knowledge that, no matter how much they loved each other and their growing family, they would be parted.Awwww Quote 12: "Oh, that looks good. What's the occasion, Farmboy? Hoping to get lucky?"LOL! S P O I L E R S P A C E Excerpt 1: Um... Excerpt 2: OH! This is the second Murphy's Law one. I forget the exact title though. By bobbart? Dandello? Someone who isn't me? Excerpt 3: Awwww Excerpt 4: Sniffle Excerpt 5: LOL! I'm thinking it's one of those 'we have 8 million dollars to hide in your bank account when we really want to steal everything emails'. OH stink. No it's not. She thinks it is but they really do have money for her or something... Excerpt 6: Hmmm... Excerpt 7: Awww Excerpt 8: Argh. I read this one. It's set like... on the Enterprise or something and no one believes that Superman really existed. Kind of like Home but even further in the future because Clark is still there and he starts flying outside the ship possibly with other Krypto-human hybrids... Excerpt 9: Um... Excerpt 10: Hrm... Excerpt 11: Sniffle Excerpt 12: Hmmm... Do I at least get another running commentary sticker?

The story you mention as #5 isn't by Dandello, it's by me.

Having just looked over my answers before posting, I feel I need to warn anyone who wants to read my answers that I appear to be in a strange mood today. Instead of ‘don’t know’ I have mostly been writing random comments. Still, there might be a couple of right answers hidden in there, who knows?

Quote 1: Yeah, I have very strange thoughts when I’m dying. They don’t help me to recognise the quote, unfortunately. Quote 2: Dunno. Quote 3: I don’t know, and more importantly, I don’t know who wrote it and what they called it. Sigh. Quote 4: These seem a morbid choice of quotes, suicide previously and now death. Quote 5: Oh, wait, I think I remember this. Um, the title was a number... 419 by Marcus Rowland. Quote 6: Nope, sorry. Quote 7: Oooh, I think I read this not long ago. Don’t know what it is, though. Quote 8: Not Just a Fairy Tale by Dandello. Quote 9: I read this recently. And it’s on the tip of my tongue... Quote 10: No, it doesn’t really matter what day of the week it was, and I’m not that good on fashion. At a guess, I’d say you were wearing clothes. Quote 11: Erm, sorry, that quote sent me into a different fandom than LnC. Pass. Quote 12: Seems familiar.
Excerpt 1: Cold and Blood by Kathy Brown Excerpt 2: Still don’t know. Excerpt 3: Oh, now that’s familiar, but I still can’t tell you what you want to know. Excerpt 4: Don’t know. Excerpt 6: Don’t know Excerpt 7: Frozen Emotions by Beth S. Excerpt 9: Accentuate the Positive by Woody Excerpt 10: Help Me Remember by Sarah A Excerpt 11: Oh, I don’t know. Excerpt 12: Don’t know.

First, the quotes: Quote 1: Is it "Cold and Blood", the one where Jimmy Olsen is being chased by Tank? I'm pretty sure it's a "Cold and Blood" but I'm not sure which one. Best guess above.
Quote 2: Alas, don't know.
Quote 3: Another don't know.
Quote 4: Don't know.
Quote 5: The classic "419" by Marcus Rowland. The first time I read that I just about fell off my chair laughing. Nigerian bank email scams and LexCorp Nigeria - a perfect match!
Quote 6: Another don't know.
Quote 7: Another don't know. I should know this, it sounds familiar.
Quote 8: "Not Just A Fairy Tale" by Dandello. Thanks for the obvious hint.
Quote 9: Another don't know and boy, should I remember it with a line like that!
Quote 10: Another don't know. And Aargh!
Quote 11: Don't know.
Quote 12: Don't know.
Now for another try at the excerpts:
Excerpt 1: "Soldier On" by Eternal Optimist?
Excerpt 2: "Murphy's Law Retort" by Richard Frantz Jr?
Excerpt 3: Alas, still don't know!
Excerpt 4: Don't know, alas.
Excerpt 5: Got it from the quote! The hilarious "419" by Marcus Rowland!
Excerpt 6: Don't know.
Excerpt 7: Don't know.
Excerpt 8: Got it in the quote. Dandello.
Excerpt 9: "Accentuate the Positive" by Woody?
Excerpt 10: "A Certain Kansan" by CarolM?
Excerpt 11: Don't know, but it's a great WAFFy quote!
Excerpt 12: Alas, still don't know.
OK, now I can go and look at other people's posts!
