I am brain-dead tonight, and I have two questions:

I believe in canon Clark was born about February 1966. What is Lois's birthday? Is she the same age as Clark or younger? Approximate month and year would be OK.

What is Trask's rank? Major?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Lois's birthdate was never given but her birth YEAR is given as 1967.

I just checked - as near as I can tell Trask's rank was never actually given. I've assumed he was a colonel - his age and apparent level of authority would be about right.

Trask is a Colonel. Don't ask me ep though smile . I think it's in the first ep he's in.

Lois is 26 in the pilot. She also says she's a Libra at some point. I believe September is used often but I don't remember ever seeing a year - though Dandello has one.

When she saw her own tombstone, it said 1967, so she's a year younger than Clark.

Clark: "You don't even know the meaning of the word 'humility,' do you?"

Lois: "Never had a need to find out its meaning."

I searched the scripts of both the Trask episodes and 'colonel' is only found in regard to Perry's Elvis story. Trask's rank was probably given in the aired episode.

Lois's birth year was on her alternate's grave marker. (Tempus, Anyone)

Fascinating about the Colonel-bit. Is it possible that it's just deeply ingrained fanon?

According to the script of "Strange Visitors":

Quote
PERRY
So we know Trask was in the Air Force, right?

CLARK
No military service record.
Disappeared into thin air in 1969.
So, officially, I'd say he is nothing to the Air Force, no rank. Just someone posing as an officer. They do refer to him as an "airman" when looking at that picture.

In TGGGOH, there is not even a mention of Air Force, ranks, etc. Probably because everyone already knows Trask is just a nut after Superman. smile

I'd say 'yes', Trask's rank is most probably deeply ingrained fanon - However, Thompson is supposed to be a government official with the authority to shut Bureau 39 down and General Newcomb 'admitted' to being involved professionally with Trask. If Trask was simply a vigilante or 'just' a nut case, Thompson (or Newcomb for that matter) would have turned him over to the police or had him arrested for impersonating a federal agent.

Trask's age is right to be a colonel and it 'feels' right.

Thanks, everyone, I guess these questions weren't as simple as I thought.

I'm pretty sure Newcomb and Thompson are (or were) deeply involved with Trask and his "craziness". That is why they "go along" with it, for fear of what would happen to them too.

When Clark mentions that "no military service record", I don't think he means Trask never had one, but that it "disappeared into thin air", just like Trask in 1969. After all, Trask is on that picture in the newspaper with other officers.

I think we can consider Trask having a high rank, but it would have to be unofficially, since he "disappeared into thin air in 1969".
