Quote 1:
"Murphy's Law Retort" (or whatever its title was) by Richard Frantz Jr.

Quote 2:
Lois looked up with a hurt puppy dog look and asked shyly, "You aren't going to let me duck out of this are you?"
No clue based on this excerpt.

Quote 3:
"The Freebie" by HappyGirl - loved that Bobby Bigmouth always knew!

Quote 4:
Pulling away from Lois, Clark said anxiously, "You can finish the story by yourself, can't you? I gotta go." And with that, he was on his way. - Sorry, can't remember, based on this excerpt.

Quote 5:
Forgot the title, but it's the one where L&C have a snowball fight! Loved the story, wish I could remember the title right now.

Quote 6:
"Actually, it's a little awkward," Murphy responded. "We're asking for your cooperation because . . . we have a warrant for your arrest."

Can't think of it based on this excerpt.

Quote 7:
Is it "That Little Sister of Mine" by Alisha Knight?

Quote 8:
The words rocketed out of my partner's mouth, and I momentarily squeezed my eyes shut at the impending situation that would somehow involve me without my consent. Whoever said Saturday
afternoons at the Daily Planet were dull clearly had never worked in the bull pen with Lois Lane.

Again, this sounds familiar, but I just can't place it...

Quote 9:
"There's a different pace here than in Metropolis, which is always busy and noisy with people rushing around going somewhere. Here, it's nice and peaceful and quiet, except for the cows mooing in the morning and..."

Can't remember.

Quote 10: Is it "The Man's Undershirt" by Jen D?

LATER: After reading the longer snippets, the only one I could add was #7: "Never Give Your In-Laws Your House Key" by Queen of the Capes (the acknowledged master of the comedy genre).

Well, broadband appears to be up and working and I did say that I’d start doing these quizzes when this happened, so my excuse for lurking has vanished. I hope Carol’s reserved last place for me, ‘cos that’s where I think I’m heading!

Quote 1: I recognise it! I can’t remember who or what, but I have read it.
Quote 2: Erm... Next!
Quote 3: Ooo, I think I almost recognise this one too.
Quote 4: Again, this is familiar but no names or titles leap out.
Quote 5: Familiar and... am I correct in thinking they’re about to have a snowball fight? Do I get any bonus points if they are?
Quote 6: Murphy? Might this be Murphy’s Law which I think was by Cookiesmom? I’ll be really impressed if it is.
Quote 7: Snort. I don’t recognise it, but I like it so far!
Quote 8: OK, I have read this and I have a horrible feeling it was rather recently. Sorry!
Quote 9: Cows can be very noisy when they moo in the morning.
Quote 10: Again I know I’ve read it...

Excerpt 1: Sorry, I know I know it but I’m no closer to an answer
Excerpt 2: Dunno
Excerpt 3: Nope, sorry
Excerpt 4: Again with the not knowing
Excerpt 5: Well, I’m still hoping for bonus points for remembering the fic had a snowball fight in it...
Excerpt 6: Erm, let’s hope my quote guess was right
Excerpt 7: Is this Never Give In-laws Your House Key by Queen of the Capes (or the other one... Never Give Anyone Your House Key)
Excerpt 8: Yes, I have read this.
Excerpt 9: No idea
Excerpt 10: Nope

Ok I finally have a few minutes and will give this a try. I just wish I wasn't so darn competitive. wink
Of course our woodstove is producing a lot of smoke today and I will probably suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning soon so I had better make this quick. cat

Comedy?? I keep trying but I swear that everything else is easier than writing something and having it turn out funny.

It always reminds me of the Voltaire quote:
"God is a comedian playing to an audience too afraid to laugh."
