Our gratitude goes out to all the hard work those on the committee put in to make our fandom a little more fun.
What are the Kerths, anyway?

What are the Kerths, anyway? Tank, you kill me! We need a special category for stories where Lois gets a haircut. We'll call it the Tank haircut instead of the Tank ending. All the stories are really so great this year, it's really tough to choose. Great job, K-Comm! My eyes are crossed and bleary from reading on a computer. Artemis

::pokes nose out of burrow:: I know I'm not part of the fandom any longer, but I can't resist visiting this lovely mbs once a year for the Kerths. I've just submitted my votes, and I salute this marvelous fandom, still going strong after all these years! Thanks, FoLCs. ::retreats again::

Back again! Possibly because Carol's duct tape is interfering with the voting process. Has anyone successfully voted yet? I tried last night and got no confirmation. Tried to use the contact page, no confirmation. Tried to e-mail "manually" to ask, and got my e-mail bounced back immediately with the following message: 74.220.215.219 does not like recipient. Remote host said: 550 No Such User Here Giving up on 74.220.215.219. So, um, help?

Anyway, I voted Sunday and got the confirmation email just fine. JD

I just got an e-mail from Tricia that confirms that my vote went through, yay! And a good thing, too, because I accidentally closed the window I'd saved with my votes... So, Sue, chances are yours went through just fine, like mine. ~salutes K-Comm~

I voted!!! Oh, the choices were hard!!! Congratulations again to all the nominees. I wanted to put 2 or more in some of the categories. I got my copy of my vote right away. It's from a different address, so make sure your e-mail firewall doesn't lock out new addresses. Artemis

Maybe I have pregnant brain, but what time does the ceremony start this year? Um, not that I set the time for my ingrate sister's bridal shower/luncheon as 11 a.m. so I'd be home by 2 p.m., since that's when it started last year. Ensuing conversation, after I explained the time to my mom, who raised an eyebrow because seriously, when do I ever suggest doing anything before noon: Me: (casually) "People eat lunch at 11." Mom: "Wait a minute ... aren't your awards that day?" Me: (suddenly regretting I mentioned it) "Um, what?" Mom: (after a long pause) "The Kerths, isn't it?" Then she starts LAUGHING at my silence. "I thought so." Me: "No, I'm doing it for [my aunt, who will be visiting.] Eleven here is noon in Denver! She'll be hungry!" Mom: "Riiight." Me: "Fine. I'm being shady. But it's more fun than a bridal shower!" And I stand by that statement!
Clark: "You don't even know the meaning of the word 'humility,' do you?"
Lois: "Never had a need to find out its meaning."

I voted and got the confirmation email immediately. It was a very hard voting. In some categories I wanted the option "all of the above". Thank you Tricia and all the K-comm for the great work. Andreia

I voted and it was really hard! There were some categories where I wanted to pick more than one story.
Congrats to the authors of all nominated fics (and those not nominated, too), and especially to the Kerth Committee for doing all the work necessary to make these fine awards happen.

I didn't think I'd have time this year, 'cause I'm student teaching and still haven't caught up with reading all the fics from the last couple years. (It doesn't help that my entire offline reading library went poof with a hard drive crash, so now I can't even remember if I read some fics or not, as they were so long ago!)
But I managed to make time this week, reading all the fics on the nom list. It was a little tricky to pick just one on more than a couple of the categories, though!
Don't point. You make holes in the air and the faeries escape.

I agree, it was hard to pick just one story for each category. But that's a tribute to all the excellent authors who participate in this fandom. In my mind, every story which received a nomination is a winner, every story which turned out to be qualified to receive Kerth votes is an impressive winner, and the ones which finally prevail in their categories are absolutely ginormous winners!
I looked at my two nominations and realized almost immediately that I'm going to be on the sidelines again, cheering on the winners. But that's okay. It's an honor to be associated with such talented and skillful writers as the ones on these boards. Yay to all the nominees! Y'all help make this place so much fun, and so very rewarding besides. Thank you for letting me play in your sandbox.
