Congrats to all the nominees and I wish them all the best.

But as I have said year after year, within this fandom, anyone who has the courage and determination to actually put their efforts out there for public scrutiny is a winner.

I'm constantly amazed by the level of excellance that this fandom consistantly produces. I think that is a consequence of the good fortune we've long had with the quality of our fics. Good writing breeds more good writing.

This is a fandom that supports and encourages the gentle writers to explore and express their muses. Critiques are done in a positive way and the members of this fandom realize that nothing is gained by unproductive negative comments.

So, while we celebrate the Kerths, and use these nominations as a pat on the back to several deserving writers; don't forget that all the writers are winners. And we're damn glad to have all of you.

Tank (who has never tired of checking out new L&C stories over the years, and continues to look forward to more)

WOW & YAY dance dance Congratulations to all the nominees and the work of the K-comm. I'm glad Beth S' stories and Rona V's stories were grouped. It's hard to pick one out of a series. They were really great stories this year. I think the alt world stuff is ramping up to really high levels.
Great debut for first time writers.

clap We have some truly talented writers in this fandom, and it will be hard to pick just one story for each category.

Congrats to all the nominees! I'd like to add a hearty "hear, hear" to Tank's words. He's absolutely right, the quality on these boards is exceptional and anyone who sucks up the courage to post is deserving of recognition.

My sincere thanks to those generous souls whose nominations put my story into the mix. I'm honored. Thank you! laugh

Smooth, Tank. A big thanks to everyone who has written this year; I've truly enjoyed every story I was able to read, and am still looking forward to a number of them on my to-read list!

K-Com rocks as always! You guys are so dedicated to putting these events together just so we all can have some fun!

And awww shucks. blush Thanks for putting my name on the list. It's finals weekend (my last set of post-grad papers for at least 10 years!), so the list posted today is just awesome x 10, and all of you guys are awesome x 10.

Grace and peace,
JD

What kind of community can connect with someone who has been nothing more than a lurker for more than fifteen years and make them feel so welcome that they not only come out of the shadows and provide feedback but then take the next step and try to contribute something?

This is a very special place. (I only wish I had found it years sooner.) I am more honored than I can say to be on the list.

I send my congratulations to everyone that was nominated. There is some excellent work here. And, to be perfectly honest, there is some excellent work that did not make the list. That in itself speaks volumes about the generally high quality of the material that is created for this fandom.

I agree with everything Tank said - we're all very fortunate to be part of a fandom of this caliber.

And my humble thanks to all of you who nominated me.

Now how will we all narrow each category down to one?

The toughest part will be casting the vote. Frankly, I'm so glad that on the Archive, the nominees are marked as well as the winners - I think the fic here is of such quality that any one fic in any one category could easily be the winner. All these fics are excellent, and I echo Bobbart in saying that many other excellent fics are out there too, just barely missing the cut.

Wow! Thank you so much for nominating one of my stories. Considering the other stories on the list (and all the amazing ones that didn't make it), that is quite honor.

Good luck to all the nominees! And a huge thank you to K-Comm for all the woek that goes into this and all the readers and writers that make it possible!

Wow, I am totally floored. I have been so busy cleaning my house for the arrival of three FoLCs who are visiting at the end of the month that I didn't even remember the list was up until I finally took a computer break just now!

I am just so honored to be nominated this year, especially for "Rain," which was incredibly difficult -- and incredibly meaningful -- to write.

And a big congrats to the other nominees! I agree with those who have said the quality of work in this fandom is outstanding. It's a privilege to be nominated with you.
