Did Lois ever mention any friends that she just sort of grew apart from but she'd like to see again? Not like Linda with the whole vicious rivalry thing or Molly who went a bit anti-techno crazy, but some nice normal person [like Carol before they found out she was nuts] or something. Like Jimmy to Clark. But not the ones from IASWAA [the couples - were there any other ones mentioned?] because I've already got spots for them... Any thoughts on a canon character? TIA . Carol

Hehe. Okay, this doesn't answer your question at all, but when you said "like Carol before they found out she was nuts', for some reason, I wasn't thinking about Carol in Bob and Carol, but about you! I was about to quietly delete you from my address book before it clicked.

I don't know any of Lois' friends by name but there's lots of potential characters who could have been Lois' friends. For example, 1) Lois' tennis partner (the daughter of "I know guys who know guys" in The Foundling). 2) How about Detective Reese from Ides of Metropolis... they came out as friends at the end of the episode, didn't they?
If she had to move heaven and Earth, perhaps come back to haunt Perry and explain the story after they'd killed her, she would do it.

Hmm... unnamed tennis partner could work... Actually, that *could* work well, but I'm still open to other ideas if anyone has one . And Beth - you're not supposed to tell everyone I'm crazy... They're supposed to think it's Carol from BCLC... Carol

At the beginning of IASWAA Clark is looking through Lois's high school yearbook and there's this pic: It's possible to see the names Kimberly Lacey and Mark Lambert (I think). There's this other pic, but I couldn't read any name and I haven't my DVDs with me right now to zoom in the scene. Andreia

She wasn't an existing friend, but Lois seemed to strike up a good relationship with the female detective - Detective Reed - in Ides of Metropolis. Eventually. INT. TRASH COMPACTOR ROOM - SAME TIME 67
The women are chatting like old school mates.
REED Must be tough, being a reporter. Especially for a woman.
LOIS No tougher than it must be for a detective.
REED It's a boys club.
LOIS Tell me about it. I could easily imagine them going on to be friends. And, in fact, I've read a few fic - many years ago - where she was included in Lois's circle of friends. LabRat ETA: I see that Anks got there before me - don't know how I missed that before posting. But anyway - I concur then.
Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly. Aramis: Yes, sorry. Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.

My best friend for many years was my sister. Lucy was such a friendly sibling that I imagine she might be included in Lois' circle of friends.

Well, if you want to invent someone, I'd suggest invent a male friend. Lois is too intense and all to fit in easily with girls her age, I think. Unless it's someone who shares her interests (reporting?). Maybe someone from the school paper? Someone a year (or two) her senior?

UltraWoman already mentioned the yearbook in IASWAA for Lois' highschool friends, but later in the episode, Lois describes Peggy Barish as a friend. JOE Hang onto him, Lois. You don't see it comin' 'til they're gone. Debbie n' me, we had our problems... but I never thought she'd _leave_. Must be something about bein' thirty. Same thing happened to Peggy.
LOIS _Peggy_? Our _friend_ Peggy? Peggy Barrish? And later, shows that Julie Keaton (don't know if they mentioned her maiden name) was part of their highschool foursome: Hans rushes out as Annette throws open an armoire to reveal photos of Julie, Peggy, Joe and Lois. Peggy and Joe have black, crushed flower wreathes around them. She places another one around Julie's picture and clutches a fourth wreath in her hands.

Oooo thanks! I tried to remember the names but they weren't coming and I didn't look them up but was avoiding them for a reason. That said, Peggy works in somewhere else perfectly! Thanks! Carol

What about a fellow member of her women's group or tae kwon do? I know they were both mentioned a few times. I'm sure you could invent someone from either of those.

Isn't Tim Mitchell one of Lois' oldest friends?
