So this morning I was reading Scientific American Mind, specifically an article called "Let Your Creativity Soar" by Mariette DiChristina, John Houtz, Julia Cameron, and Robert Epstein (June/July 2008). There were quite a lot of similarities in the discussion to what we in fandom talk about and come to know intuitively, so I thought I would share. If you're an artist or a writer - and even if you're not - and you're feeling down, this might cheer you up a bit (I hope).
I agree that a lot of those skills are ones fans in online fandoms intuitively pick up.
