...and fanfic.

A while back there was a lot of discussion on the responsability of fanfic writers especially with regards to "unclean," squicky/triggery topics.

This post sums the arguments up (pretty much every side of it) and accompanies it with more theoretical brilliance on women writing sex and violence. And did I mention it's brilliant? But that's not what I'm posting here, though it's as formative article as there is with respect to a nuanced, though-provoking analysis of the squicky side of fandom.

Darn. I digressed.

Anyway what I wanted to highlight is this short, but incredibly smart post on intent and interpretation among other things as they relate to fanfic and the various problems therein. Her comments on accuracy were particularly interesting and something I hadn't considered before.

I want to quote, but there is so much to comment on I'm afraid I'll go crazy and blabber away more than I usually do. laugh
