Hi Everyone! The ceremony for 2008 is over. Many thanks to all the people who took part in one way or another: people who nominated, who voted, who volunteered to present an award, who compiled quizzes, who helped behind the scenes in one way or another... and most of all, many thanks to the writers, without whom none of this would be possible. At the ceremony, Kae and Yvonne announced their retirement from K-Com. Thank you, Kae and Yvonne, for all those hours of hard work you have dedicated to making the Kerth Awards a great success. You are going to be missed by everyone, especially by me. Tricia

Congratulations to everyone !

Thanks also to Yvonne and Kae and the whole Kerth Comm. You guys have done such a fantastic job and you will be missed. Best of luck to Tricia in the coming years, I have no doubt you'll be just as amazing and make all that work look effortless. <--- that's what I've been doing all night!

As someone who's been to every Kerth ceremony except the first one, and actually voted in the first one even though I didn't attend, I'm continually amazed and impressed by what the Kerth Committee achieves each year. Right from the start, Leanne Shawler and Pam Jernigan did a brilliant job of conceiving the awards and bringing them into being on the night of the first ceremony in March 1998, ten years ago. Then Kathy Brown and Erin Klingler joined Pam, and Annette Ciotola came on board after that, and between them they established the awards and the ceremony to what it is today. All the fun you guys had tonight takes a lot of hard work and organisation, yet they made it seem effortless. Good luck to Tricia, the new co-ordinator, who I know will do a wonderful job, and to the new committee members when they're chosen and announced. And, since tonight was the eleventh Kerth Awards, believe it or not, here's to the next eleven! Wendy PS: for anyone interested, see the Kerths History on the Kerths website.

Thank you to everyone who voted for me! I am still in a state of shock and spent a good portion of the evening being sniffly. Congrats to all of the other winners! This was a great year for fic and I really enjoyed reading the nominees. And K-Com did an awesome job with the ceremony and voting process! You guys rock!

Congratulations to all the nominees and winners and thanks to those involved in making it all happen. I'm sorry I had to leave in the middle but you all know how it goes sometimes.

Congratulations to all the winners. KComm did another fantastic job this year, and I know how stresses some of you were about it. But it went very smoothly and I had lots of fun. I also want to thank Kae and Yvonne for all the hard work they put into the awards. You've been brilliant! Saskia

Congratulations and cheers to all the winners! Every one of you totally deserved it! I knew when I saw the competition I was up against that I wasn't going to win this year. But how can I be disappointed when so many talented writers put up so many wonderful stories? I'm honored just to be considered for such an award as this. Thank you for letting me play in your sandbox. And thank you, all you winners and nominees, for sharing your passion and your talents with us.

Congrats to all the winners! I wasn't able to make it last night, but having been to past Kerth awards, I know everyone had a great time. Y'all always put on a good show! Kae and Yvonne - best wishes on your retirement... I know you worked hard over the years, and it's never easy being in a leadership position. Congrats to you both on a job well done, and to the rest of the KComm as well! Tracey

Apparently I'm destined never to make it to the Kerths , but I hope everyone who attended had a wonderful time! Thanks so much to those who voted to honor my stories with awards this year , and a huge thanks to the members of the Kerth Committee who so generously volunteered their time and efforts. Kae and Yvonne, I really appreciate all you've done over the years and wish you a very happy "retirement". Congratulations to all the winners and nominees! It's a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful and talented community . Caroline

Congrats to all the winners! All the stories I hoped would win, did, and now I know what new stories to start with! Whether you're a first time winner or an old pro, it's a thrill --and you've earned it -- so enjoy it! Thanks, Wendy, for the trip down memory lane! This is the first year I've ever missed the Kerths, and it gave me a very odd feeling when I realized that... but I'm confident everything went brilliantly. Well done, Kae & Yvonne! You've done a very professional job, and made it all look easy. You deserve a chance to relax in retirement, now -- take it from me, it's very nice! Trisha, El & Annette... ) Thanks, FOLCs -- these awards could not exist without all you authors & volunteers & cheering squads. One of the great things about this fandom is the sense of community, and these awards really showcase that. You're all wonderful. PJ

<faints> <gets up... faints again...> Wow guys! I can't believe this honor, really. I've been so shamefully absent the past few months that I figured everyone had forgotten about me. I was floored to receive nominations... but to actually win?!? Wow! My head is doing that light floaty thing. I really wanted to attend the Kerths this year so I could catch up with all you wonderful FoLCs but circumstances didn't permit it. I would like to express heartfelt thanks to Sue for accepting our award all by her lonesome. <sends hugs to Sue> I'm so glad she was there to represent. And I am so honored and delighted to be able to share this award with her. Thanks to everyone who voted for our story and enjoyed reading it. Thanks to the committee for all their hard work. Congratulations to all the other nominees and winners. And... I hope to return one day soon with another story. -- DJ
