The awards channel is #kerthawards - that's basically the "stage", where presenters, winners and K-Com will organise the ceremony. Chat is moderated on this channel to keep everything understandable and easy to follow.
But you also have to join #kerthchat to cheer and chat with the audience and everyone. Pretty much everyone joins both channels to enjoy the ceremony to the full.
