He gets chopped with an axe in DJ's House of Cards. http://www.lcfanfic.com/stories/2007/houseofc.txt There're a couple of others I can think of - in one, he's presumed dead and Lois kidnaps his body back from the govt and has to dig a bullet out and sew him up. Don't know what it's called or who wrote it though.

Yvonne Connell is a well-known Superman basher. She also gave Clark an equal opportunity to get banged up along the way. The classic hurt/comfort where you can't help but continue reading, even as you feel so bad for the guy.

A New Hero - by yours truly. I won't give you the link because the story is not finished. (And he wasn't actually shot in the story - he recovering from being shot.)

In I Will Always Love You by ML Thompson, Clark gets shot by non-K bullet, but doesn't have his powers at the time. Quite fond of the story, despite the sobbing that it usually induces. <g> Jill

Greatshades, the story you mention is my own 'Dark Revelation'. It's an oldie.

Strange Relationships by Nan is one of my kryptonite favs. He also gets shot in Getting to Know You, but it just leaves an ugly bruise...
I'm sure I know of some Madam Ex rewrites, I'll just have to chew on that tonight.

Clark gets shot in my "Smallville Style", but it pretty closely follows the story line, so probably not what you're looking for.
thanks!
