Hi guys! There were 22 entries to the Guess the Author challenge. I was stunned, but thrilled. Now for all of you who have been taking notes and biding your time, here's your chance to take some guesses. You don't have to guess for all 22, but if you do, then great. Here is the TOC for all of the stories: And here is a list of the contributing authors: Classicalla, Lara Joelle Kent, D8a, Sue S., Laura S., Laramoon, Caroline, Elisabeth, Dandello, Metrorhodes, Zoar3, Sapphire Blue, EditorJax, Woody, Queen of the Capes, Erin Klinger, Carol M, and Symbolicangel Santa\'s Helper Comments White Orchid Ball Comments Queer Eye for the Fly Guy Comments Southern Nights Comments An Autumn Affair Comments The Ball is in Your Court Comments Leather Comments The Pefect Costume Comments Dressed for Chef-cess (In the nfic folder. ) Comments Frostbite Comments Hey, Sailor! WHAT?!?!? Two weeks for the guessing? People have been guessing for a month - it's time to just take the blinders off and reveal!
Sheesh. I can't possibly wait two more weeks to see how wrong I was.

Please could we make this shorter? Like a couple days. We've all pretty much read the stories and you've already all come to the conclusion that I've written every single story in which Batman showed up -- could we get this game over with, now?

Oooo! Good idea! Give a list of who the authors were (although you don't have to tell us if they posted twice) and that will help whittle down the possibilities.

how about three days? And on the list of authors. More than whittle down...remind us of all the authors so we can go through them and compare them to the story. Though personally, I think Sue just got really busy and wrote them all.
I think, therefore, I get bananas.

I think it would be nice to make it a good solid week. I know some people are a bit anxious (I am too) but there are some people who don't visit the boards every day and I would hate for them to miss out on the fun. Also an authors list would be great. ^_^

I vote for a week too. At least until the end of this week. There's still a couple I haven't read yet. Shame on me! I'll also grovel for an authors list.

I'm at home today (sick - bleh) and I can either refresh the page ad nauseum to see that there are no new posts, or I can do something vaguely constructive. So here's a recap of who's guessed what on this game. I'm leaving out the people who didn't really guess or who refused to guess. The first name is the guesser, the second is the author they're guessing: Santa's HelperLaraMoon - elements reminded her of JDG and Tank but she eventually picked Terry Queen of the Capes - LaraMoon Lady Mirth - two guesses, Laura S. or Queen of the Capes alcyone - Queen of the Capes or Terry TOC - Laura S Woody - Paul Caroline - "not Lara" (way to narrow the field) Elisabeth - Laura S. Jojo - Sue Shadow - Sue Carolm - Tank Sue S. - Laura S. Lara JK - Sue, DJ, CatBruce and "I don't know who else" BJ - sorta hinted that it might be CC Aiken Symbolicangel - Sue Classicalla - leaning towards either Tank or Caroline D8a - Laura S. LabRat - no official guess, but waffled over CC or Kathy Brown White Orchid BallLaraJK - LaraMoon TOC - Classicalla Sue S. - Lara JK Jojo - seems to be a guess for LaraMoon Elisabeth - symbolicangel Classicalla - TOC or LaraJK symbolicangel - Queen of the Capes D8a - Elisabeth Queer Eye for the Fly Guyalcyone - says she knows, but won't divulge EditorJax - Shayne Sue S - EditorJax or LaraM Laura S - admitted that all the authors are actually Lex Luthor TOC - EditorJax or Sue LaraMoon - EditorJax Elisabeth - MetroRhodes symbolicangel - MetroRhodes Classicalla - Nan or LaraM BJ - ML Thompson Vanda Detroit - EditorJax D8a - MetroRhodes Southern NightsElisabeth - Sue S. Okay! Well then one week it is. That way everyone can have time to guess/not die of a wait. And I'll post a list of all the authors too. Check the top, I just edited it.

You go, Elisabeth for guessing on almost every story! That's awesome and I admit way more than I can do-at least without simply randomly guessing! I do read hints of Laura in "Queer Eye." I know, I'll try to hunt down something by each of the authors listed and at least have a little more educated a guess that way. Thanks Laura for listing the authors. Mona

Wait, Woody wrote a fic? That in itself is a surprise. And, considering a PN that came just too quickly, I have a good guess which one it is. Darn it, Woody, you had me fooled completely.

Good to know.
Btw, is this going to be a poll at the end or something else? Do we PM you Laura with our guesses?

I was thinking people would just post them here, and then at the end I'd make a tally of all the stats. Does that sound okay?

Posting here is fine, but in cases where some people know certain authors better than most, it could influence the voting. For example, if Sue posts here that she thinks DJ wrote such and such a fic, I'm going to have a hard time not agreeing with her because she would know a lot better than I.
I think a poll in the polls section would work best, because each person can vote for each one and then afterwards see whether or not they were with the majority and/or plurality. Plus, it would save you tallying them up.
I would still say to post guesses here like we did before but as for the actual voting...

Poll sounds good, but it wouldn't enable us to figure out who wins. *lol* Or does no one win at all? I thought there was something about whoever getting the most right...
Otherwise, I agree that votes should probably be kept secret -- else for instance, it actually forces me to vote for someone else on something I wrote. There's no way for me to vote and not give away information. I know what I wrote and it would be silly for me to enter my name for a story that I know for a fact that I didn't write -- and if I do enter my name for one story, won't people automatically know that it's cause I did write that? Not to mention if I omit to put a pick on a story, it's just the same as me telling everyone I wrote it... no?
See the dilemma?
(erm... this made LOTS of sense in my head, but I'm not sure I'm explaining it well...)

Give me a day or so and I can put together a voting program over at 'The World of Lois & Clark'
It will help if I have the list however for the final tallies, however.

Hang on - there's going to be voting? I thought we were just guessing who wrote which story and then at some point Laura would post the answers and we'd all find out if we were right or not. What would we be voting on? Confused Rat

I'm sticking to as many of my original guesses as I can. To second guess myself would eventually lead to insanity. James has enough to deal with right now without a wacko for a wife. That still leaves me with 9 stories I need to guess on. Huge props to Elisabeth, who managed a guess on nearly every fic (and I bet she would have guessed on all of them if RL hadn't been so heavy at the end of the month). Thanks, Sue. After the second death in just a week, I haven't felt like hanging out in happy-go-lucky places anymore. I wouldn't be back on tonight, except that James told me that if I didn't come back to guess none of my unofficial guessing earlier would count for anything. But don't worry, after nanowrimo is over I'm sure I'll be in a better mood. (Besides I can't leave the boards knowing that my last posts were incredibly crabby. I have to come back at least long enough to send out a few apologies.) BTW, I noticed that two stories didn't have any guesses at all. That probably means they didn't get any feedback. I wouldn't want some authors out there thinking we didn't like their stories (I confess I haven't even read them, yet) so we might want to revisit that--unless, of course, they were indeed all written by Sue and Laura is just trying to throw us off the scent by giving us a list to choose from. Let's just guess already is my vote; enough with the confusion! We could simply have some kind of chart that has all the story names, all the authors, and us guessers could put a check mark..lol..wait this is via computer not on a piece of paper! Like I said before let's just guess. Mona

*Blinks* I am confused. Sorry, I should have thought this through a little better. I just cleared out my entire inbox. So if people want to PM their guesses to me, I could post them later, or, you you'd like, I could just post the answers and everyone can just find out now. What do you think? I know a lot of people are anxious to find out who wrote what. I would have no problem simply listing the authors and the stories they wrote.

I personally would like to know who wrote what at this point. Since a lot of them have been up for quite a while, I would have to reread several of them in order to make a guess, and the ones I made a guess on, I did initially. JMHO.
