This is the first time I've ever posted to ask questions about a story I'm writing (or attempting to write). So, please throw comments, suggestions, rotten tomatoes... Anything you think will help.
The basic premise is that Clark goes off to NK. (There's a lot of back story first, but the part I'm having trouble with is after.) I am going to write two different endings to the same story. (Hopefully I'll have someone who actually wants to read it!) Anyway, I know how I want one ending to go. It's the other I'm having trouble with.
First, when he comes home, Lois has had his child. (Hard to believe I'd write a story with a kid, huh?
) I have notes that have him coming home after nearly two years, the child turning 1. Then I have a bunch of another version down with the child being nearly 6 (I think), so he's been gone a lot, lot longer. Which would you rather read? Short time gone- toddler at home? Or long time gone- big boy at home? Or should I just say the heck with it and not write anything?
SQD (who would be tickled if someone actually responds to this)
