I was about to post this in Jojo's latest Drabble challenge thread, but then realised it might get in the way of the actual drabbles. Anyhoo...you guys do know that the Archive accepts drabbles, just like any other fanfic, don't you? Never get the idea a story is too short for us to upload. You could submit the ones you've written individually, if you liked, but I'm wondering what you would think about perhaps uploading them to the Archive in bulk by theme? With each author credited beneath their drabble, but all of them in one story file? A Lightning Drabbles, a Smooth Drabbles and so on. (Or, at least, all authors who agreed to their drabble being included.) Logistically, it should be easy enough to do. What do you reckon? To my mind, either way, these are too good to miss out on. I like the idea of bulk drabble files by subject on the archive! If each author could have a link in their individual listings to each drabble file then that would be great too.

I also like the idea of bulk drabbles. If we do it this way, I'm gonna have to start putting time limits on them though. Which is totally possible.

If you are doing one a week, jojo, then a three week time limit would probably be good enough.
I think, therefore, I get bananas.
When in doubt, think about time travel conundrums. You'll confuse yourself so you can forget what you were in doubt about.
What's the difference between ignorance, apathy, and ambivalence? I don't know and I don't care one way or the other.

I think that's a great idea. Drabbles are really fun to read when you want a sort of quick pick me up,. lol and to have them all archived sounds wonderful.

I think they should be uploaded in bulk, it's fun to see all them together. How about one month as a time limit? Nice round time frame that gives us all plenty of time to participate.

I haven't participated [yet ], but would you [the ubiquitous you - don't know who it would actually be - maybe a volunteer?] combine them all from the thread and then submit to the archive? Or would they all need to be sent in separately for Labby et. al. to combine? Carol

Since I'm running the challenge I could do it. I don't mind. I'll have to go back and reformat the rules a bit and then ask people who have posted if they are fine with it going on the archive. Shouldn't be to bad though.

Cool! Thanks for the help, Jojo! You seem to have all the details worked out, so I'll just leave you to it and await the results. This should be fun. LabRat

Submitting them in bulk would be a great idea, definitely.

I think submitting in bulk would be a great idea. Of course, you have to have each author's permission. I think a month time limit would be adequate. Go for it, JoJo.

Thanks carol. That is one of the new rules I just posted. Of course all the past themes I have to go back and get each one approved since that wasnt a rule at the time. The same people seem to be doing it each week so it shouldn't be a problem. I also have made a new rule that you have one month to complete each challenge. The first 2 drabbles I extended a bit since I am just announcing this rule. The cutoff date for each drabble is listed in the first post of each challenge thread. ^_^ Woo! Thanks everyone!

Carol!!! I will bring these little guys out if I have to. ~Jojo, who really doesn't blame Carol for wanting to read MLT's stuff instead of writing.

Okay... so what is the best way to submit these things? Just the author and the drabble? Or should we also put in any author's notes that might apply? I've never done this before so help me out here kids.

I'd suggest giving them a global title. Something like "The Drabble Series: Lightning". Put all the drabbles for the Lightning theme into one file and list the authors beneath each drabble. Any author's notes can go beneath the author name on the next line, as so: Drabble #1 By Author Author's Note You could put asterisks between each drabble and it's credits to separate them out further, if you liked: Drabble # 1 By Author Author's Note ***** Drabble # 2 By Author Author's Note Don't think you need to get any more complicated than that. Oh and remember to give yourself a credit at the end for doing the hard work of compiling them for the Archive! LabRat
