So there's been many fics [more than one of mine included] where Clark has bought a small island in the Caribbean using money from that gold mine in Siberia [isn't that where it was? where he got the gold from for the time machine?].

Anyone have a clue how much an island would actually cost?

Looking at the featured islands, there's a huge price range depending on where you want your island. Anything from $600k (a snip! I'll take two! <G>) to $70 million in the ones I saw.

I figure, going by this site, you can pretty much make it up as suits you.

I found that site too. Most of the ones I saw there are too close to civilization for Clark's comfort I would think. Most of them boast only so many minutes to some civilized area. I think he'd want to be as far away as he could be, which would drop the price. There were some in some places as cheap as 75G or so [though not much more than a rock with some trees but still ].

I'll keep looking and should anyone have any practical experience... I want to visit!!!
