I'm stuck with a language barrier *and* a swiss cheese memory... so... here's another question: I'm looking for something (anything!) that Superman has told Lois, which would sound particularly amusing once she found out that Clark is Superman. ...and I don't mean the cheese of the month thing, here. *lol* For instance, in Man of Steel Bars, when he tells her he's read her work. (no kidding, huh, he's even edited her copy! *rofl*) That's the only one I could think of, though... Surely there must be others? Thanks! ~Lara (hard at work, as you can see...)

In the first season he used to take a lot of delight in the doublespeak.
In the Pilot, for example, when Lois asks Superman how she can find him again he tells her "I'll be around." When she next sees Clark she asks him where he's been and he says, "Around."
Sometimes the hint was broader and she still missed it. Like in Wall of Sound when he comments that the Kerth award is smaller than he thought. Then Superman shows up at her apartment and admires her display case, telling her that it makes the awards look "bigger".
I don't know if that's exactly what you're looking for, is it? Times when he's dropped hints that she didn't even register?
Lois: You know, I have a funny feeling that you didn't tell me your biggest secret.
Clark: Well, just to put your little mind at ease, Lois, you're right. Ides of Metropolis

Oooh - that "around" comment, I never even noticed myself. Is it pathetic that I'm happy to have an excuse to watch the pilot again? I remember the Kerth comment, though. That was such a cute one. Not exactly what I'm looking for, though - she's not likely to remember comments like that well enough, I don't think. It's not really him dropping hints that I was thinking of, even. I have Lois remembering things at this point in the story and I wanted her to realize a few things. I was hoping to be able to get a couple "well, DUH!" out of her reminiscing, I guess.

In Witness (though it's alike the Man of Steel Bars dialogue):
LOIS: You... read my work?
SUPERMAN: Always.

I don't remember where this was (Foundling, maybe?) but Lois was massaging Clark's shoulders. From patchy memory: L: Wow, you're so tense! You're like iron. C: Steel, actually. Or something along those lines PJ
"You told me you weren't like other men," she said, shaking her head at him when the storm of laughter had passed. He grinned at her - a goofy, Clark Kent kind of a grin. "I have a gift for understatement." "You can say that again," she told him. "I have a...." "Oh, shut up."

In Green Green Glow of Home.... JIMMY: So, C.K., now that you won 'The Big Thrill in Smallville,' how you feeling? CLARK: I'm feeling... (considers it) Super. Granted it wasn't a conversation between Lois and Clark, but she was there.
Clark: "Can I have a rat chief? Can I, huh? Please?"
Perry: "Clark, do you want me to send you to the dark room?"
Clark: "The dark room?"

How about this one? From Flyhard (copied from the script:
CLARK (cont'd) And, if that's a hair trigger underhis finger, it could go off fasterthan I could stop it. I can't takethat risk.
**Everyone is surprised at Clark's outburst.**
LOIS Clark, take it easy. You're not Superman.
CLARK I know, but even if I was, I couldn't --

Some more quotes. Maybe they can be useful, though it's Clark speaking, not Superman. I know they're the same, but you know what I mean, don't you? :p
From Neverending Battle:
Lois: How long can you hold your breath? Clark: A very long time.
From Ides of Metropolis:
Lois: You know I have a funny feeling you didn't tell me your biggest secret? Clark: Well, just to put your mind at ease Lois, you're right, I didn't.
From Operation Blackout:
Clark: People can have two sides to their personalities. Lois, believe me, I know.

In the quote from Fly Hard that SuperRoo copied from the script, I don't think that Clark made a response to Lois' comment "You're not Superman" in the episode that we saw. Whether or not it was filmed and edited out, I don't know.

Oooh! Andreia - the one from Ides of Metropolis is just perfect! Not sure if I can make it fit in my story, but I am *so* keeping this for later. In fact, it's given me a great idea for something else. Weee!!!

I know this post is outdated.. but I was just reading this and thought... "Chi of Steel,"
CLARK You know, I was thinking... I wonder if Chen is the Hooded Robber? LOIS A mild-mannered reporter... really a super-hero? Clark. _Please_.
If she had to move heaven and Earth, perhaps come back to haunt Perry and explain the story after they'd killed her, she would do it.

It was for Blizzard. Long time ago, huh? But, you know what? Thanks for resurrecting this, it's giving me a few ideas for other things. I guess Batman will have to stay on the back-burner for a bit...

Whether or not it was filmed and edited out, I don't know. I don't know about the script, but he did answer her in the ep. I just watched that part to be sure: Lois: Clark, take it easy.
