Okay, I'm mentioning his height in a fic. I know how tall Dean is, and I know how tall the Superman of the comics is, but was this ever mentioned in LnC? It seems they made Superman taller than Dean is. Does anyone know?

They never actually mentioned 'Superman's' height on the series, but since Dean is only a 6 footter, and not 6'4" like the Superman of the comics and movies it was always a major point of contention with those who didn't like Dean's Superman.

It was always implied that Superman 'looked' taller than Clark because Superman's poses were always upright and commanding. Clark was just a regular guy who might even slough a little. Also, Superman was... Superman, he just had to be taller.

Tank (who says it's also been postulated that Superman's boots added some height)

no, no - that would be OoC for Clark to slough. laugh
Slouch though, yeah. Very Clark.

Although, he was no slouch - as all those motivational posters prove.

Sorry, couldn't resist the temptation... I know I should have .... better person would have, but.... smile

Haha! That reminds me of the French Emperor, Louis the fourteenth (not sure how you write that guy's name in English) who was a real little shortie, and who wore high-heeled shoes and a great big, high wig to make up for his lack of stature! laugh (Who knows - maybe Superman's boots are like those tremendously high-soled boots that were popular in the seventies?)

Superman's boots?

It wasn't that it's OOC for Clark to slouch, but who, other than military and those palace guards in England, stands ramrod straight all the time? Clark is relaxed. Superman is usually standing straight and tall, trying to look authoritative. So that would be an additional few inches.

Plus people in authority and threatening people simply look taller to onlookers (that's why on some convenience store door frames there are rulers - A gunman always looks huge, but a reference to a measurement while they're coming in to leaving will lead to a more accurate assessment of the perps height.)

So Clark would come in at 6'0" while everyone around Superman will swear he's at least 6'2"-6'3".

From the commentary of The Pilot Dean says that he is 6 feet tall in his bare feet I think he says he's about 6' 2''- 6' 3'' in heels.

Since a man's shoe heel is usually around 1", that would probably mean he was wearing lifts as well?

Don't like Luthor, unfinished, untitled and crossover story, and people that promises and don't deliver. I'm getting choosy with age.

I think it also mentions that he hovers just off the ground to make him look taller.

I think, therefore, I get bananas.

Yeah somtimes, but he slouched, too. He definitely slouched. And it was far more noticeable in tights and a cape than it was in a business suit. I sometimes wanted to yell at Dean and say, “You’re Superman! Stand up straight.”

I’m pretty sure the boots had heels. Unfortunately, I don’t have a pic.

Thanks, guys.
