I seem to remember reading a story where Lois goes to a party given by a college friend. Think it might be an engagement party for one of the friends but not sure. I just remember that they give Lois a hard time - she knew they would. Clark comes as her date but not with her but a while into the party. Anyway he comes dressed really hot and her girlfriends are all over him. There is a confrontation between Clark and a guy from Lois's past - I assume "Paul". Can't remember more than that and in doing the search couldn't locate it. Anyone no if this is indeed a story and not a figment of my imagination and if so what story is it. I'm sure its on my harddrive somewhere.

This sounds a bit like AnnieM's Playing Series. It's not so much a party as it is Paul inviting her out on a double date to catch up. Lois needs Clark to play the part of her boyfriend. In the later stories in the series, there is indeed a party-type event in which there's a confrontation between Paul and Clark. Hope this is what you're looking for. Simona, I hadn't known about the epilogue, either, but I did a search on the mailing list and tracked it down to the nfanfic folder of the Zoomway board . I'm not going to give a direct link, but log into the nfic folder, use the search function, type in "Happy New Tears" and it should be one of the first hits.
