I'm trying to put together a list of episodes where one or more of these elements are major factors (as opposed to secondary background storylines, particularly in Lex's case):
  • globe
  • spaceship
  • kryptonite
  • Lex Luthor
  • Bureau 39
  • Tempus
  • New Kyptonians

So far this is what I have:
  • The Pilot 1 & 2 (first confrontation with Lex & spaceship referred to)
  • Neverending Battle (Lex tests Superman)
  • Strange Visitor (first appearance of Bureau 39, globe & spaceship)
  • The Green, Green Glow of Home (Bureau 39, spaceship & first kyrptonite appearance)
  • Foundling (the globe)
  • Barbarians at the Planet & The House of Luthor (Lex & kyptonite)
  • Madam Ex (first time Lois sees kryptonite in action)
  • Metallo (kryptonite powered cyborg)
  • Top Copy (Superman suffers massive kyptonite exposure)
  • Tempus Fugitive (Tempus)
  • Individual Responsibility (kyptonite)
  • And the Answer Is . . . (kryptonite & Tempus connection)
  • Ultra Woman (kryptonite & a Bureau 39 connection)
  • Home Is Where the Hurt Is (spaceship)
  • Tempus, Anyone? (Tempus)
  • Through a Glass Darkly & Big Girls Don’t Fly (New Kryptonians & spaceship)
  • Lord of the Flys & Battleground Earth (New Kryptonians & kryptonite)
  • Soulmates (Tempus)
  • Meet John Doe & Lois & Clarks (Tempus)

Maybe apply:
  • Ordinary People (kryptonite appears, yes, but I can’t remember just how much of a role it plays in the story)
  • Lethal Weapon (does kyptonite exposure cause his problem originally?)

Have I missed any?

EDIT NOTE: I had reversed the plot elements of Neverending Battle & Strange Visitor so I fixed those two. Also, I intentionally didn't include the non-wedding arc that does include Lex but just remembered that there was another episode that he appears in post-death, which is his first bald appearance. What is the name of that one?

Don't know if it's his first appearance, but I'd definitely say that The Phoenix is a Lex-centric episode.

Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly.
Aramis: Yes, sorry.
Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.

"Home Is Where the Hurt Is (spaceship)"

This also involves kryptonite in a big way - it's the remedy for the virus infecting Clark.

"Lethal Weapon (does kyptonite exposure cause his problem originally?)"

Yes, Perry's son keeps exposing Superman to red kryptonite throughout the episode.

Thanks to both of you. smile

One side of my brain was telling me that The Phoenix was the one where bald Lex appeared but I was apparently arguing with it. blush

And I didn't remember that kyrptonite was used to "cure" him in the virus episode. Interesting.

Thanks again.

Oh, and if anyone is curious about why I'm asking about these, it's "research" for Haven, which real life is finally allowing me to spend some time working on. Anyway, I've always wanted to work some a-plots into it but couldn't figure out how and didn't have the patience to create some from scratch right now. So I finally decided to pick some specific villain episodes directly from the series and, um, er, have at them, shall we say. evil
