Somebody asked me and I didn't have an answer for it because I'm not that involved anymore... What happened to the nKerths? Don't we usually have them by now?

Interesting. I don't frequent these boards and there was never an announcement on Zoom's.

Oops. Just realized that you said *2003*, Artemis. What happened to 2004, y'all?

I think it was decided to have it every year and a half to 2 years, because of the amount of submissions. But I'm not sure.

Yeah, I think that's it, Karen. I remember a discussion on having it every 18 months or so.

Hi FoLCs!

Yes, we normally have the nKerths by now - in years past it's been September. However, as a result of discussions last January, due to the number of fic we had by the end of 2003, it was decided to hold off at least until the next year.

Here are some interesting numbers for you:

We had 40 nfic stories completed in 2003, 6 of which are George and Lynn stories.

As of October 31 this year, we have had 24 nfic stories completed in 2004, 3 of which are George and Lynn stories.

6 stories were started in 2004 and still incomplete:

Wherever You Will Go by skfolc
Long, Strange Trip by Thirtysomething (AKA Leela)
Stand Off by Kippcarrieann
Concrete Jungle Love by Chaabreh
Act 4: A Season of Love, Part 1 (George and Lynn nfic) by Echo
The Friends We'd Do For A Friend by Sarah and Kaylle
Haunting Eden by Lynn M.
Lois & Clark: The Family Adventures of Superman by RodStewFan

We can open up discussions again this January and get folcs' opinions once we see where we stand at the end of this year.

Thanks!
Dawn & Crew smile

I was wondering too! Glad that's cleared up, because I always look to the awards to see what I should read.

I have a question though: what's a George and Lynn fic?

George and Lynn stories are nfics about two actors, George and Lynn (which, as it happens, are the respective middle names of Dean and Teri), who are working on a TV show about a superhero.

They're a matter of some contravercy. Some FoLCs hold that they're not L&C fics because they're not about Lois, Clark, or any of the people in their associated multiverse (the L&C universe + the alt-universe + other elseworlds). Others say that they fall within the scope of the fandom, and should therefore count.

The moderators of these boards tend towards the former stance, but G&L stories are welcome in the nfic section of Zoomway\'s Message Boards.

When in doubt, think about penguins. It probably won't help, but at least it'll be fun.

Ohhh, I see! Thanks, Paul! But then do the George and Lynn fics have constant characters, or are the only constant characters George and Lynn?
