I`ve been looking for one particular fic a while now. I doon`t remember the title, nor do I remember who wrote it, but it has to be a few years old and I think is on the main fanfic boards.
It`s about Clark beginning at the Dailey Planet etc. etc. the normal stuff BUT Clark has a ?three year old? son with Lana, although I think they are livíng seperated or she left him or something like that. Anyway Clark`s son and Lois become best friends and then Clark and Lois fall in love, I think:
I think at one time a similar fic was written about Lois already having a child?
Anyone know what I am talking about???

I think I remember this one -- a three parter, done in first person? -- and if so, it's no longer available. The author took down everything a few years ago.
I know ML Thompson did one called "Cause and Effect" that had Lois with a young daughter. There are probably a few others.

"You told me you weren't like other men," she said, shaking her head at him when the storm of laughter had passed. He grinned at her - a goofy, Clark Kent kind of a grin. "I have a gift for understatement." "You can say that again," she told him. "I have a...." "Oh, shut up."

I read that one a couple of weeks ago and WOW. I really enjoyed it. I hope you will too!
That's too bad about the other fic being taken down by the author. OH well.

GRRR!! At first I thought this was something by SQD...but none of the stories on the archive are ringing that bell. Now this is going to bother me all day! I hope I helped...though even I still am not sure. :p Sara

My first guess would be "Duet", also. Clark was a widower with a young son, and always trying to stay one step ahead of Child Services because of his unusual lifestyle (as a musician) and because his child had been traumatized by his mother's death (though Clark's marriage to Lana wasn't a happy one) and no longer spoke. Lois was an entertainment lawyer or something like that, and they met in that capacity.

Hi Sunshine,
I do remember reading that story. But don't remember the title.
Clark start at the planet. Clark and Lana are in the middle of the divorce. Clark come to visit he parent when he find Lana dump the child and the custody paper.
She wanted to follow her career (model I think).
Lois was seeing someone (don't remember) but was to attach to Clark.
Lana died in an accident.
Is not "Duet" or "Cause and Effect"

Sounds like "The Way It Should Have Been" by SQD. Well, I could be totally wrong, I'm kind of reaching here... It's been a while since I've read that story. ~Julia

Hi, The story is about Clark being a single father. Lois is a friend, co-worker. I'm being trying to find this story and nothing yet. MAF
