Nan, this was a great look at Shallock--and Mark's background. Kind of odd to see how easily he slides into a "life of crime"--or is it just crime against the Jils? It was also nice to have a quiet section before we plunge into the action again.

Is Alan's ankle wrapped? It just sounds so much like when I tore the ligaments in mine, and I had to wear an aircast for support for 7 weeks. As it is, I keep flinching for him.

Looking forward to seeing how A&M make contact with the TU.

Mark is a product of a semi-alien culture, a world where the Jils are the supreme power, and as one of the lower species he had to be tough and adaptable to survive. He's pretty typical of a Shallockian native at this point, but his life of crime is definitely in relation to the Jils, as you will see.

Alan is so green he could be Kermit!

I love Mark.
