Week of October 30, 1989

This is the first poem I wrote in my Walk with Christ. I was bored at work. For about two weeks I had been prying to God to give me something to do on the long nights at work when the body was needed and the mind wasn't. His answer was to write. I thought about all the things God had done for me and the promises He made to me in His Word, The Bible. This poem is the result.

You Care
By James Tull

When I was down, You lifted me up.
When I was thirsty, You filled my cup.

When I was sad, You wiped away my tears.
When I was afraid, You took away my fears.

When I was depressed, You gave me hope.
When I had problems, You helped me to cope.

When I was tired, You made me strong.
When I was alone, You helped me along.

When I was blind, Your love showed me the light.
When I was tempted, Your love led me to do right.

When I needed You, You were always there.
That is all the proof I need to know that you care.
