I was going to post this in the "Lois & Clark" folder, but decided maybe it belonged here instead.

What can I say? I'm easily amused. :p This was the lede in an article I was reading online earlier: Just 15 years ago, New York City had 35,000 phone booths. Thanks to cell phones it now has just 11,000, most of which serve little purpose for anyone but Clark Kent. Mayor Michael Bloomberg wants to change that.

If that piqued your interest, the full article can be found here.

I know our Clark didn't really use phone booths, but it does bring up an interesting thought. What if he had depended on them for a little cover? What would changing technology do to him?

Slightly incidental to this is the bit in the first Superman movie, when Christopher Reeves' Clark does a quick up and down look at a phone kiosk with an expression that says "you must be joking." smile

Lois: You know, I have a funny feeling that you didn't tell me your biggest secret.

Clark: Well, just to put your little mind at ease, Lois, you're right.
