Some time after I read about the "evil Superman" challenge, had another idea:

What would happen if Lois was some criminal, either full time or in a secret other identity of sorts?
She might be a gang boss, a common thug or even Lex Luthor's widow (or wife?).

How would Lois and Clark meet in the first place?
Would Clark still love her?
Would he be able to change Lois?
Would he cover for her?
Would he ever tell her about his double identity?

Or, if Lois was still a reporter, maybe using her identity as investigative journalist to eliminate competitors among the criminals of Metropolis,...

Who would find out about the other's nighttime activities?
Would Lois and Clark be in love during the day and fight each other at night?

I love this.

I think I might TRY taking it up! Ah Heck, I'm already writing notes on it! It's a crazy, crazy month for this over-worked college student, though, so I might be a little slow.

Yeah, that'd be really interesting! I think Cindy Leuch did this though, in Shades of Grey . In it, Lois is a private investigator cum arsonist.
How about if Lois was some kind of CIA hit woman, and neither of them had told the other about their moonlighting activities? I see definite potential for a "Mr. and Mrs. Kent" in that. laugh
But in the premise you're suggesting, it could also be possible that Lois hates Superman, as an interfering goody-two-shoes, but feels drawn to Clark's more tangible innocence and optimism. I think she'll try to fight those feelings, to be able to do her job, and to protect Clark. Clark would be subconciously drawn to Lois, but outwardly irritated with her superior attitude and constantly leaving him out of the loop. He'd veiw her as an immoral, snobbish and self-centred woman, especially given her animosity toward Superman. I'm seeing a lot of love-hate and angst here.
Great premise! thumbsup Any takers, please?

“Is he dead, Lois?”

“No! But I was really mad and I wanted to kick him between the legs and pull his nose off and put out his eyes with a freshly sharpened pencil and disembowel him with a dull letter opener and strangle him with his own intestines but I stopped myself just in time!”

I think I wrote a vignette once where Lois sells out Clark to Luthor, but I can't remember the title right now. The curse of old age.

Tank (who thinks there might have been more than one ending, but I can't remember which one was actually posted)
