When I read the end I immediately thought of Raj Koothrappali daydreaming about Siri on Big Bang Theory.
The story also made me think about Technology Traps from James Burke's excellent
"Connections" 1978 series. (If you haven't seen it I strongly recommend it. Molly Flynn might even approve.)
