While bigger fundraisers like auctions are fun and stuff, FoLCs could also just donate stories as a thank you to those who would be willing to do a regular, recurring transaction (e.g., $20/year pledge and Sara will write you a ficlet…which you all know will end up way longer anyway
)
As far as auction things go…maybe for bigger things or unique items that are donated for auction could have a lottery amongst those who donated and would like to enter—that way, it honors their contribution but there is no "stress factor" or pressure to outbid someone.
