Glad this story is back and complete! YAY!
This was an emotion-filled, powerful story that had me hooked from the beginning. It took a lot of interesting twists and turns.
These last three chapters are very powerful. You express Kal's pain and discomfort very clearly.
So sad that his efforts to help were met by overwhelming fear that actually hindered his ability to give aid. And his and Lois's futures seem very bleak.
Perhaps this is the best that could have been hoped for under the circumstances, still it is a bittersweet ending that leaves me yearning for more. Would love to know what happens next to both Kal and Lois. Wondering if your mentioning Nightfall is foreshadowing of the third part of the trilogy? And a way for them to find happiness? I hope you can find time to write the last part, and will be looking for it.
