Virginia, 52 was a year-long weekly comic back in 2006 that has nothing to do with the New 52. It's just an unfortunate coincidence in the name. The New 52 is a 2011 reboot of DC continuity, where they retooled their lineup so that they have 52 titles and restarted all of them with issue #1.
