I agree with you, Annie, that this has historically been the case, which is why I find the children's names in my daughter's 3rd grade classroom so interesting. In her class, it's the girls who almost all have tradtional names -- Amy, Emily, Hannah, Melanie, Sarah -- while the boys are much more trendy -- Cameron, Chandler, Skylar, Chase (two of them!), Justice, even Free.

Makes me wonder what was going on 8-9 years ago when all these kids were being named ... apparently they never read the research. <g>
