And, wow, you can just go to class and pick up notes? That never did happen when I was still in college - we had to write 'em down ourselves.
In a way yes, the lecturer uses powerpoint presentations to deliver the class so for an explanation you had to be at class, but the main points were all in the notes. I could have easily grabbed the notes off the internet, but he never put them up that early so I had to be at class.
