Okay, well maybe you're not a math geek. But maybe you can help me with something that has been bugging me ever since I was in grade school. (And that's a *long* time ago, campers!)

When I was in grade school, I read a little poem someplace. It goes like this:

Multiplication is vexation,
Division is as bad.
The Rule of Three doth puzzle me,
And practice drives me mad!

Well, I've never been very good at math, and only took the minimum requirements for high school and university graduation. Multiplication and division I know about, and can do with a little struggle. But I've *never* heard of anything in math called the Rule of Three. Can anyone who knows anything about math explain to me (in simple layman's terms) what it is?
