Very good question. Maybe because eloping is irrational, but prosing is thought to be thought out.
I have realized that what they rushed was not Lois and Clark's relationship but Lois telling Clark she knew. It would have been fun to have at least a whole episode where she knows, but Clark does not know that she knows.
