Couldn't they say that Superman saved her and Clark? Just because Superman didn't mention it, it doesn't mean they weren't saved. And besides, the police will go through what is left of the building and not find any trace of Lois's and Clark's body.
Of course, there's still the whole "Clark is Superman" issue to cover.
