I'm looking for a story that I read awhile ago. I can't for the life of me figure out what it's called. confused

Lois lives on the West Coast. I'm thinking maybe San Francisco, but I'm not sure. I did a fic search for "San Francisco", but I couldn't find it. I know for sure it's on the West Coast. She has a female neighbor who she is close to.

Lois and Clark meet and she discovers his secret. Not sure how. He lives in Metropolis and goes back and forth to see her. Kind of like he did in Aussie Rules.

There is one part where Clark finds out that there is a fire in Lois’ building. He rushes over as Superman to see if he can help.

Does anyone remember this story? grovel

Your comments make me think of Ten Years in the Making . But not sure if this is the one you are looking for.

Cheers

Hm the female neighbor in San Francisco reminds me of Agnes from The Long Road Home...

Elizabeth,
That’s not it, but it’s a good story. smile

Shadow,
That’s it! I saw the title to that fic in my search, but I thought it was Raconteur’s story called “The Long Road Home”. (Which I knew wasn't the one I was looking for.)
Thanks SOOO much! smile1

Could it be Carol Malo's excellent "Connections: An Alternate Story" ?

Lauren,
That's not the one I was looking for, but I don't think I've read that particular story. So thanks for the recommendation! laugh

I'd been thinking about your question for a while and popped in to post, not even noticing that Shadow had answered it. I will now smack my forehead and use my favorite new word -- derp. Just discovered it. It seems to cover the gamut from duh! to d'Oh! and beyond.

That story by Erin is one I haven't yet read, so thank you for the recommendation!

I've added both Erin Klingler's "The Long Road Home" and Carol Malo's "Connections: An Alternate Story" to our e-book legacy page . They're ready to download in epub and Kindle format.

One reason I love these "looking for a fic" posts is because I get suggestions on wonderful stories! I love the new word. I’ve never heard of “derp” but it seems to fit many situations, LOL!

Thanks for adding those to the Kindle page. I downloaded them already. I was already a bit into “The Long Road Home” on my computer, but now I can read it on my Kindle! clap

Can you download those files to a Nook?

According to the Nook website
Quote
* EPUB (including Non or Adobe DRM)
* PDB
* PDF
* Graphics: JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP
* Audio: MP3

Not Supported: DOC, LIT, TXT, AMZ (Amazon), LRZ/LRX (Sony)
So yeah the ones here include epub and pdf formats and either will work.
