If you want to contribute to June\'s A-Plot Challenge , but don't have any ideas here's my not-so-vague suggestion:
A-Plot – Member of the Jury Challenge
Lois or Clark is called for jury duty and nothing they can say or do can get them out of it. Worst of all, they get picked to be on the jury for a trial.
So, Who? What? Where? When? How? And, of course, is the defendant guilty? If so, do the other 11 members of the jury agree or disagree with our hero/heroine? Does justice prevail or is it a travesty? And best of all, how do Lois and Clark feel about that? Does their experience as a member of the jury change their views on the justice system?
They can’t discuss the case with their partner (which would drive Lois nuts, wouldn’t it?) Lois wouldn't be able to discuss Clark’s thoughts as a member of the jury or not be able to have Clark investigate what she wasn’t being told in court. Clark, of course, would have to battle that inner dilemma of following the rules of being a member of the jury, while knowing there was something missing from the defense or prosecution's case. Would he end up contending that having Superman investigate allows him the loophole he's looking for, or would that be considered "cheating"? What happens if something else happens while Clark is stuck in court, therefore, not allowing Superman to go save the day? Is one part of the justice system more important than another?
RULES:
1. Lois or Clark must be a member of the jury (although, I might make an exception for Perry).
2. They cannot discuss the case with their partner, who meanwhile is investigating the circumstances surrounding the case while covering the trial.
3. A-Plot focus of the story. Lois and Clark's relationship can either be strengthened or weakened by this trial (pun intended), but what's important is the case.
